The predecessor of the School of Business was the Department of Factory Management, the Department of Trade, the Department of Bookkeeping and Accounting and the Department of Finance and Credit established in 1950, which was the earliest institution to offer management education in China and the founder of business administration education in New China. After more than 60 years of development, the college has cultivated a large number of professional economic management talents for enterprises and government agencies; It has trained a large number of teachers for Chinese universities; Many new educational programs have been opened; It has opened up many new areas of research; The textbooks are widely used in domestic universities; He actively contributes to government decision-making and enterprise development, and is an important pioneer of management education in China.
The School of Business consists of seven departments: the Department of Business Management, the Department of Organization and Human Resources, the Department of Marketing, the Department of Management Science and Engineering, the Department of Trade and Economics, the Department of Accounting, and the Department of Finance and Finance. There are 138 full-time teachers, including 40 overseas doctors, accounting for nearly 30% of the total number of teachers, including a group of doctors from Princeton University, Carnegie Mellon University, Rutgers University and other famous overseas universities.
The School of Business has a national key first-level discipline of business administration and three national key second-level disciplines of business management, industrial economics and accounting, including all degrees and training programs from undergraduate to doctoral in the discipline of business administration, and now has 7 doctoral programs, 9 master's programs, 5 professional master's programs and 7 undergraduate professional directions, and the comprehensive strength of the discipline ranks among the best in domestic universities. In 2012, the business administration discipline of Chinese University ranked first in the country in the third round of first-level discipline evaluation by the Ministry of Education.
In 2017, the Business Administration Department of the Business School of Chinese University was selected as one of the "World-class Disciplines" by the Ministry of Education.
In recent years, the School of Business has vigorously promoted its internationalization strategy, and in 2010 and 2013, it became one of the first business schools in Chinese mainland to obtain two top global accreditations for management education. In 2014 and 2016, the School's MBA, Executive Education and EMBA programs were all ranked among the top 50 business schools in the Financial Times Global Business School Rankings, ranking 43rd, 49th and 43rd respectively.
The School of Business has established long-term and close cooperative relations with more than 70 famous universities in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Ireland, Finland, France, Japan, South Korea, Australia, Belgium, the Netherlands and other countries, as well as Hong Kong and Taiwan. In 2012, he participated in the initiation and establishment of the Yale School of Management's "Global High-end Management Alliance", which greatly enhanced the school's international influence.
