Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts is located on the shore of the Haihe River, its predecessor was Beiyang Women's Normal School, founded in 1906 by Mr. Fu Zengxiang, a famous educator in modern China, and is one of the earliest public institutions of higher learning in China. In 1980, with the approval of the State Council, it was officially named Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts, and has a history of more than 100 years. Since the middle of the last century, it has gradually become a multidisciplinary and multi-level higher art academy, with strong strength in various majors of fine arts, experimental art and other emerging majors, and is one of the eight most influential art academies in China.
The school has two campuses, Tianwei Road Campus and Zhichengdao Campus, covering an area of 116,000 square meters and a construction area of 163,000 square meters.
