Beijing Film Academy is Asia's largest and world-renowned film professional college, and is also an art university supported by the Beijing Municipal Authority, the State Administration of Press, Publication, Radio, Film and Television and the Ministry of Education, and is known as the "cradle of Chinese film talents".
History
The predecessor of Beijing Film Academy was the Institute of Performing Arts of the Central Film Bureau, which was founded in 1950. In 1951, the institute was renamed the Film School of the Film Bureau of the Ministry of Culture of the Central Committee, in 1953 it was renamed Beijing Film School, and in 1956 it was restructured into Beijing Film Academy.
The scale of the school
Beijing Film Academy covers an area of 105 acres. There are nearly 3,000 full-time degree students, and about 3,000 adult education undergraduate students, international students, on-the-job graduate and graduate courses, advanced studies and trainees. The school is building a new campus, covering an area of 500 acres, with a planned full-time enrollment of 6,000 students.

Discipline specialization
Beijing Film Academy has three first-level disciplines, including drama and film and television studies, fine arts, and art theory, and has a systematic and scientific film discipline professional system. At present, there are 5 departments of literature, directing, photography, film studies and film and television technology, 11 branches and graduate schools, basic departments and training centers, covering every industry of film creation, including all aspects of film creation, and is the only college that can independently create feature films. The comprehensive strength of the film discipline leads the country and ranks among the best in the world.
Hardware facilities
Beijing Film Academy has good conditions for running a school. Professional classrooms and professional laboratories are fully functional and well-equipped. The Digital Cinema Technology and Art Laboratory is a key laboratory of Beijing. The recording laboratory is the only laboratory in colleges and universities in the country that has obtained the qualification certification of Dolby, an international sound authority, the sound experimental center is the Beijing experimental teaching demonstration center, and the Hengdian Film and Television Base of Beijing Film Academy is the training base for off-campus talents in Beijing. The per capita value of teaching and scientific research equipment of the school is more than 280,000 yuan, which can better meet the needs of teaching, scientific research and artistic creation of teachers and students.
International exchange
Beijing Film Academy actively promotes international exchanges and cooperation, and uses international education to improve the level of education. In 1984, it became a member school of CILECT (International Federation of Cinema and Television Schools); In 1988, it was elected as a governing school. In 2002, he was elected Executive Chairman of the organization's Asia-Pacific Film Annual Conference. In November 2008, the Academy successfully held the "2008 Beijing International Federation of Film and Television Schools Conference", which was attended by more than 200 presidents and representatives of nearly 100 member colleges and universities from 48 countries around the world. The school has established cooperation and exchange relations with nearly 30 film academies in more than 10 countries and regions, such as film professional education, academic research, teacher visits and creation. Every year, the school also invites foreign film artists, experts and scholars in the field of film education to give lectures and exchange with the school. It has successively held the "Beijing Film Academy Student Film Works Exhibition" in nearly ten countries and regions, and cooperated with students from film schools in many countries and regions to shoot documentaries and animations. Founded in 2002 by Xie Fei, a professor and famous director of the Beijing Film Academy, the "Beijing Film Academy International Student Film and Television Works Exhibition" has been held for 13 consecutive sessions, and has been highly praised and enthusiastically participated by students and teachers of film and television colleges and universities around the world, and nearly 1,000 film and television works from film and television schools from more than 50 countries and regions participate in the exhibition every year, and has become the largest and most influential student film festival held in Asia; Founded in 2001 and has been held for 14 consecutive years, the "Beijing Film Academy Animation Academy Award" is the most authoritative exhibition and academic seminar and exchange activity for young people's original animation works in China. Our university is one of the nine most influential institutions of higher learning in the education and teaching of international students in Beijing, and has won the title of advanced unit of teaching and management of international students in Beijing for many times.
Academic exchanges
The school is the center of academic exchanges in Asian films, and has successively carried out various activities such as the college lecture hall, the college screening hall, the alumni film exchange, the humanities lecture hall, the retrospective exhibition of the master's works - the retrospective exhibition of the works of the world film masters, and held the Golden Word Award of the Department of Literature, the Xianli Award of the Department of Photography, the "Animation Academy Award", the Director Award of the Department of Directing, the Acting Academy Award, the Recording Academy Award and other activities that have a significant impact at home and abroad, and invited world-famous film artists, theorists, management and technical experts at home and abroad to come to the school to serve, give lectures and exchanges.
