Beijing Dance Academy, founded in Beijing in 1954, is the highest institution of specialized dance professional education at different levels of college/undergraduate/graduate education, and is known as the "cradle of dancers"

Beijing Dance Academy was founded in 1954, formerly known as "Beijing Dance School" for secondary dance professional education, and was transformed into university education in 1978. In 1999, he was authorized to confer a master's degree in dance. In 2005, he was granted the right to confer the Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree. In 2010, the college cooperated with Peking University to jointly train doctoral students, forming different levels of secondary school, undergraduate and graduate education, which is the only highest institution in China that specializes in dance professional education, and is also the world's largest well-known dance institution with comprehensive professional settings.

With the title of "Cradle of Dancers", the college is accompanied by the beautiful Zizhuyuan Park, welcoming and sending away countless students who pursue their dreams for dance. At present, the college has nearly 600 faculty members, about 2,500 full-time students, a total of 5,303 students, 698 academic qualifications, and 4,605 non-academic students, and the School of Dance Examination Education trains more than 30,000 dance examination teachers at home and abroad every year, and nearly 300,000 students participate in the dance grading examination.

The School has set up the Department of Chinese Classical Dance, the Department of Chinese Ethnic and Folk Dance, the Department of Ballet, the Department of International Standard Dance, the Department of Musical Theatre, the School of Creativity (including the Department of Choreography, the Department of Art Design, and the Department of Modern Dance), the School of Humanities (the Department of Dance, the Department of Art Communication, the Department of Public Foundation, and the Department of Ideological and Political Theory Teaching and Research), the School of Education, the Graduate Department, the Youth Dance Company, the School of Continuing Education, the Dance Examination Institute, the Affiliated Secondary Dance School and other teaching institutions, covering dance performance, dance education, choreography, dance theory and stage design, Arts management, media technology, dance human science and other related disciplines form a dance education system with Chinese characteristics.
