Wyeth Nutrition (China) Co., Ltd., founded in the United States in 1915, is one of the top ten brands of infant milk powder, the inventor of the world's first can of modern formula milk powder, and in 2012, Nestle purchased it from Pfizer, a Fortune 500 company
The legend of the world's first can of formula
In 1915, during the annual meeting of the American Academy of Pediatrics, Dr. Gostenberg and Dr. Ruhe successfully introduced the "G-R Milk," the forerunner of the SMA, the first formula that mimicked breast milk. After completing extensive clinical trials, "G-R Milk" was renamed "SMA" and was produced and distributed in 1921, marking the beginning of what is now the industrialization of infant formula and its life-feeding journey. Today, Wyeth is part of one of the world's top 500 companies. In the field of infant formula, Wyeth has always adhered to the rigorous attitude of quality control and the concept of scientific innovation to continuously create industry-leading high-quality and high-safety infant formula for babies around the world.
Six of the ten revolutionary innovations in infant nutrition R&D over the past 100 years have been initiated by Wyeth for the first time:
In 1933, it was the first to add β-carotene to help the development of the baby's immune system
In 1961, the ratio of whey protein to casein was adjusted to provide high-quality protein for babies
In 1971, a patented fat ratio was introduced to help babies absorb fat and calcium and support healthy growth
In 1996, DHA and AA from pure plant sources were added to help baby's brain development
In 2002, the content of α whey protein was increased to help the baby's digestion, absorption and growth
In 2006, we were the first in the world to add lutein, which can help support blue light filtering and antioxidant in baby's developing eyes
Wyeth's vision of "leading humanity to a healthier world" means discovering, developing, producing and promoting healthcare products to improve people's quality of life. It also means forging partnerships for the good and using our resources to drive better and healthier lives on a global scale.
Through financial contributions, product donations, patient assistance programs and community initiatives, Wyeth made more than $294 million worth of philanthropic contributions to individuals and organizations worldwide in 2005. For Wyeth, providing high-quality health products and services is the most important thing as a corporate citizen.
As a multinational enterprise with a sense of social responsibility, Wyeth has not only carried out a variety of corporate citizenship projects and programs around the world, but also made due contributions to the development of China's medical and health care undertakings through cooperation with the government and relevant social and industry organizations, including drug donation, public health education, continuing medical education and community activities.
Quality Assurance
Wyeth insists on using natural, pure, pollution-free high-quality milk from New Zealand, one of the world's high-quality milk sources. Not only is it rich in water and fertile land, it is an island-type natural pasture with a superior environment: pesticides, antibiotics and growth hormones are eliminated, and cows are grazed on natural pastures all year round. The purpose of "natural breeding" is to ensure that every drop of milk is not contaminated with chemicals, and that the quality of the milk is truly controlled at the source.
There is a period of dry grass in New Zealand pastures every year, and Wyeth abandons the dry grass period to produce milk, and only collects milk source milk during the wet grass period from August to January to ensure the high standard of Wyeth milk powder.
