BIBS International Kindergarten was formerly affiliated to the International Youth Exchange Center under the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, which used to be an English training center for children, and later changed to BIBS Education Group and transformed into a private kindergarten. At present, in addition to international kindergartens, BIBS Education Group also covers a continuous system of education from elementary school, junior high school to high school.
BIBSB's class setting is similar to that of Huijia, in that different classes are set up according to different teaching purposes. BIBS is divided into four different class modes, including English teaching, Chinese and English combined teaching (divided into two categories), and Chinese teaching. However, the branches of BIBS are mainly concentrated in Chaoyang District, which cannot meet the needs of children in other areas.
If children plan to study abroad in the future, the pure English teaching of Blue Harbor Park is conducive to children's exposure to the English environment from an early age. The ratio of English to Chinese in Wanghu Garden and Yangshan Garden is 7:3, and children basically use English in kindergarten, while Chinese mainly plays a role in auxiliary interpretation. The teaching method of Wanda Park is similar to that of ordinary bilingual kindergartens, with half Chinese and half English. Ivy Garden is a traditional kindergarten, the language environment is almost Chinese, and the teaching of English is only the elementary stage.
Although different areas of BIBS Kindergarten adopt different language teaching models, the teaching runs through the same curriculum system. IPC courses are structured in thematic units, with an average of 4 weeks per topic. Each theme is relatively independent, but it integrates multiple disciplines such as history, science, geography, sports, and art, and teaches topics such as wealth, animals, transportation, food, celebration, and more. In addition, the Early Childhood Program also includes phonics courses, graded English books for children, Oxford reading, and mathematics courses according to different age levels.
BIBS' field trips and excursions are an integral part of the IPC curriculum. Each month, BIBS will design excursions or field trips to the theme of the IPC for the month, such as animal-themed teaching and taking children on field trips to Beijing Zoo. Extracurricular activities are also set up to meet children's interest development and interpersonal communication. Between 3 and 4 p.m. each day, children can participate in different talent activities according to their personal interests, including piano lessons, swimming, crafts, taekwondo, roller skating, Lego, etc., and children can also interact with classmates of different ages.
The size of BIBS Kindergarten is not as large as that of overseas kindergartens or Ba Xueyuan, but each classroom has its own play area, complete with toys, puzzles, etc. BIBS's classes are small, with a teacher-student ratio of about 1:5, a high ratio of foreign teachers, and a 1:2 ratio of foreign teachers to Chinese teachers. In general, the configuration of classrooms and teachers can give children more attention. The food is also international, and since the students come from different countries, the lunch configuration is not only Chinese lunch, but also Western lunch is available.
BIBS is flexible in terms of admission, and in order to recruit students throughout the year, admission will depend on the student's age, grades, interviews, and availability. Beanstalk uses October 31 as the age group. Students born before October 31 will be placed in the same grade as those born in the summer. Children born after October 31 will be placed in the same grade as children who are one year younger, but the child's learning course, gender, nationality, etc. will also be assigned to the class.
The tuition fee of BIBS varies from park to park, such as Blue Harbor Park and Shunyi Garden, which cost as much as 150,000 academic years, while Ivy League Garden only has more than 20,000 academic years. If parents do not have the need to train their children to go abroad for primary or secondary school, the configuration of the Ivy League is enough to meet the needs of children's education in early childhood. In addition to tuition, some parks require separate payment for meals, ranging from 500 to 1,000 yuan per month. Generally speaking, BIBS International Kindergarten is very international, and its hardware facilities and bilingual teaching are its highlights, but there is also a common problem of high turnover of teachers in private kindergartens. The instability of the teacher leads to the need for children to constantly adapt to different teachers, which parents need to pay attention to when visiting the garden.
