Little Oak Kindergarten - Institutional Reviews

Little Oak Kindergarten was founded in 2001 when a mother founded Little Oak in an apartment in the Asian Games Village in order to give her child a space to grow up freely. After more than 10 years of development, Little Oak now has 8 classes. Little Oak is also an experimental garden for the sub-project of the National Key Project of the Tenth Five-Year Plan of Education and Science, "Research, Experiment and Promotion of Ecological Art Education".

Little Oak Kindergarten uses a Montessori mixed-age class concept, where children between the ages of 2.5 and 6 learn together. Although there is a mixed-age model of daily life and games, children of the same age are also organized to attend classes in specialized classrooms. This model is similar to the model of compulsory and elective courses in college.

The Little Oak Park has a rich game activity area, including a climbing area, an ocean ball area, a sand area, a plant area, and more. The indoor teaching area is set up according to Montessori standards, and there are many Montessori toys used by children. In addition, there are Orff music game classes, creative art classes, cooking activities, math games, etc., so that children can exercise their hands-on ability, creativity, logic, etc. in different courses. However, Little Oak Kindergarten is not a standard Montessori teaching model, and if parents want to enter a professional Montessori kindergarten, it is recommended to consider a kindergarten like EtonHouse.

Little Oak Kindergarten attaches great importance to parent-child teaching and requires a high level of parent involvement. Little Oak also conducts regular training for parents, such as how to play with their children, play sports with their children, and so on. At Little Oak, there are also many parents who volunteer to assist teachers in teaching activities. And for new families, Little Oak encourages parents to accompany their children in the kindergarten a few days before their children officially enter the kindergarten, which also requires parents to have enough time to join their children's kindergarten life.

The Orff Music Classroom set up by Little Oak is an Orff dance classroom recognized by the Orff Professional Committee of the National Musicians Association, and it is also the first parent-child center to promote music pedagogy and supporting teaching materials in China. This is a good choice for parents who want to cultivate their children's music and musicality.

If you want your child to attend a family-style kindergarten, Little Oak is open to parents every Wednesday from 9-11 a.m., but reservations are required. The cost of the small oak tree is about 7,000 yuan per month, including meals, but you need to bring your own bedding and schoolbags.
