Mojo, which means "lucky talisman" in New Zealand, Mojo is a long-established coffee roasting brand in New Zealand, which was born in Wellington in 2003 and now has more than 30 stores in various cities in New Zealand. With a focus on international routes, Mojo has now landed in Japan, China and the United States, with China's first Mojo coffee opening in Xi'an in 2015.
Localization is a must-do for almost every foreign brand, and Mojo is no exception. The acceptance of black coffee in Xi'an is generally not high, and the locals are more accustomed to drinking milk coffee and have a certain pursuit of the sweetness of coffee. Mojo Xi'an has reduced the caffeine content in the coffee recipe and increased the proportion of milk. But that doesn't mean Mojo focuses only on sweetness and ignores the taste of the coffee itself. In order to balance the acidity and bitterness in the espresso, Mojo often uses more than five coffee beans from different origins for blending, and the espresso can also be replaced with SOE.
There are many varieties of pour-over coffee beans, most of which are light roasted and generally have a heavier acidity. Each pour-over coffee comes with two cups, either hot or on the rocks. In terms of coffee beans, the China store shares the purchase channel with the New Zealand store, and purchases green coffee beans directly from the place of origin, and roasts them on-site in the store to ensure that the beans are fresh.
At present, Mojo has opened a total of four branches in Xi'an, and although the staff are all trained, the overall level of service is not high. Generally, in cafes, the clerk will serve a glass of lemonade or boiled water to the customer, in order to eliminate some taste interference, so that the customer can better taste the coffee, the waiter in some Mojo stores obviously does not have this sense of detail, in addition, the staff is not familiar enough with the menu categories, the action of cleaning the table is slow, and the service is not considerate.
Located on Fengcheng 8th Road in Weiyang District, Mojo coffee is Mojo's first roasting factory in China, with a dedicated roasting area where guests can watch the roasting process of coffee beans with their own eyes. The factory store is larger than other branches, and it has a private room, so it is recommended to go forward.
