On the coffee map of Xi'an, Xiangzimiao Street is a must-visit street, and the famous pulp café in the local coffee circle is located here.
Pulp was run by two shopkeepers, and before opening Pulp, the two owners had opened a café called "Nausicaa", and they wanted to set up a take-out shop with a focus on coffee, which led to the birth of Pulp. Most first-time visitors to Pulp will be surprised by the pricing on the menu, which is only between 10 and 16 yuan per coffee, but the portion is less than that of other cafes. Pulp advocates environmental protection, and bringing your own cup can also be reduced by two yuan.
There aren't many pulp coffee drinks, and almond latte is a popular drink in espresso, where only half of the milk is poured and the other half is replaced by almond milk. The almond latte is bitter, the coffee flavor is not obvious, and it is slightly fragrant. Matcha lattes are common in cafes, where the matcha used in the pulp is brought back from Japan by the owner and milled on site. Although the latte recommended a drink for the owner, the performance was average, and the coffee flavor was not strong enough and was relatively bland.
There are only four single origin coffees on the menu, which are actually based on the beans available in the store. Yirgacheffe Arechcha G1 and Yirgacheffe Voka are two coffees recommended by the owner, the former is sun-dried for a thick, rich taste and rich layering, and the latter is washed for a brighter acidic taste.
The coffee beans are self-roasted, and there are also ear packs and cooked beans for sale in the store. The store space is cramped, the seats are tight, and there is no privacy at all, which is inconvenient for customers to dine-in. For guests who pay more attention to cost performance, the pulp café is a good place to go, and there are still some gaps between pulp and other coffee shops in terms of comprehensive service and environment.
