The Well Bar is part of The Temple House at Taikoo Li. Compared to the high-rise mansions in Taikoo Li, the well bar on the street is more lively and has a younger audience, with all kinds of parties often held here, gathering all kinds of hipsters.
As a hotel bar, Jing Bar is able to share part of the hotel's grounds, and the outdoor lawn allows guests to have more areas for activities, from the green bricks and tiles of Taikoo Li to the modern building of Chunxi Road, which also provides a wider space for various theme parties. Inside the bar, two nearly two-storey transparent glass wine shelves in the center of the hall are the visual center of the hall, and on both sides are dark green leather sofas, brass lampshades, wooden boards and copper floors and other retro living room designs, which are stylish and stylish. There is a DJ booth in the middle of the wine cabinet, but its music style is so strong that it is easy to mistake it for a club, which is not quite compatible with the positioning of a hotel bar.
There are 20 home-made cocktails and 10 classic cocktails, some of which are infused with local elements such as peppercorns and ginger, and the ingredients, flavors and methods of each cocktail are listed on the wine list. The self-created model recommends three models: Sichuan mule, Chengdu mule and well sour. Sour is a classic cocktail consisting mainly of a base liquor, sour (citrus juice such as lemon, lime, grapefruit) and sweet (sugar or liqueur), with a wide variety of variations, such as "Daisies" by replacing sugar with grenade syrup, and "Fixes" by replacing sugar with pomegranate syrup. The "Side Car", which we mentioned earlier, also belongs to the Sour category, and this cocktail is one of the best choices for the first time because of its sweet and sour taste, light in the mouth, and light in taste.
Classics such as the Singapore Sling and Zombie in the store also performed well. A tropical beauty, based on black and white rum with juice and dried bananas, the milky aroma masks the alcohol in the mouth, and is loved by ladies.
Compared to cocktails, the variety of whiskies at Well Bar is not very rich, and most of them are common drinks in bars, which are completely satisfying for beginners, but long-time drinkers may find it a bit monotonous. French fries, fried food, cold cuts, cheeses, and other light meals are available.
Like many restaurants in Taikoo Li, Well Bar is subject to a 10 per cent service charge and a 6 per cent tax. But in fact, the service is not too good, the surging customer flow makes the waiters tired, and the recommendation of wine is not professional enough, only the nut snacks that can be refilled for free are worth mentioning. The Well Bar and the nearby Wizar are both popular bars in Taikoo Li, with the Wizar style being calm and low-key, while the Well Bar is more suitable for the fashionable young crowd.
