Opened in 2012, the house has the same name as the protagonist of the famous Japanese anime "Gintama", and has become a "time-honored brand" among the craft beer bars in Chengdu, and is almost the most popular tavern in the region. In the early days, it was opened in Xiaotong Lane, and later moved to Wuli Creative Factory, which is close to the Beer Wine Society. At the beginning of 2018, Wanshiwu opened a second store in Kuanzhai Alley, and it was less popular than the first store.
Wine is not the biggest factor in the growth of the house. There are 18 heads serving 18 kinds of draft beer in the Wuli branch, while there are only 8 heads in the Kuanzhai Alley store. The House of Masters is a big fan of Chengdu Harvest Distillery, offering some of the freshest local draft beers. Although it may not be able to beat many domestic and foreign first-line brands in the production of wines, the excellent freshness still adds a lot to its fine wines.
Fumo IPA is a fist product of Fengshou Distillery, this wine is golden brown, clear and translucent, not much foam white and delicate, hanging cup long-lasting. It has a strong citrus aroma with some unrecognizable fruit notes. It is full-bodied, with a balance of bitterness and sweetness, and a faint honey flavor in the weaker mouthfeel, which is semi-dry in the mouth. This top IPA in China is worth a try for both craft brewers and enthusiasts.
In addition to domestic craft beer, Manshiya also offers home-brewed beers and several cocktails, but the quality is mediocre, with the exception of a cocktail called "Goodbye Guawazi" with a bright name.
The quiet drinking atmosphere is a big factor in the popularity of Manshiya. The store is located on the third floor, and the relatively remote location makes most of the customers who come here are regular customers, and it is a common sight in the store for friends to gather and chat with each other, so it also makes the house a good place to socialize. The small interior of the store is mainly gray and black, and the night is slightly dark. Although smoking is allowed in the store, the air is not too choking. Compared with the Wuli store, the area of this Wanshi house in Kuanzhai Alley is smaller, only about 50 square meters, but it also continues the cleanliness and tidiness of the Wuli store, and the atmosphere is still relaxed and comfortable.
The service of the two master houses is the same enthusiasm. The boss and waiter are kind, and they are full of patience when recommending wine, and they will introduce a lot of information about Chengdu's travel and food when they meet guests from other places. The house also has a special clerk, a black Labrador named Dingchun, who has a docile personality and is relatively well-behaved, and many drinkers rush to it.
