Wanghu Hotel is a long-established four-star hotel in Hangzhou built in 1984, just one step away from West Lake, with a unique geographical location. Located on the first floor of the hotel, Sullivan Western Restaurant provides morning and evening buffet in the market, and the beautiful scenery of the courtyard is close at hand, full of urban romance.
Even in the evening market, there is not a lot of variety of dishes in the restaurant. The hot menu serves dishes from around the world, including seafood curry, crab curry, miso tuna with Japanese vinegar, Arabic barbecue salad, Vietnamese seafood spring rolls and more. There are four kinds of seafood sashimi: sea bream, vinegar mackerel, salmon, and octopus sticks, all of which are cut and laid out in the kitchen. In the seafood section, there are mussels, scallops, prawns, crab legs, snails and prawns, but there are no fresh oysters, which is disappointing. There are dozens of Western-style pastries in the dessert area, which are simple in shape and average in taste, and there is nothing amazing about them. The Hong Kong-style roast meat and Cantonese dishes in the deli area are a plus, and the white-cut chicken and roast duck are the most recommended, and the matching roast sauce is also more authentic.
As a cafeteria under the old hotel, although it is located on the first floor, it cannot overlook the beautiful scenery of the West Lake, but the interior environment is bright and transparent after the redecoration, and the full transparent glass windows can see the leisure scenery of the courtyard, which is worthy of recognition. The disadvantage is that the restaurant has a separate eating area at the end, which is more inconvenient for diners near the entrance area. The service staff of the restaurant is insufficient, and basic services such as closing and refilling water when many people are dining are not in place, and they still need to be improved. The restaurant only does evening group buying, and the price is 188 yuan per person, which is equivalent to the lunch price of a restaurant of the same level in the city, which is relatively affordable. However, due to the geographical location, the restaurant is still hot, so if you need a view such as a window, it is best to make a reservation 1~3 days in advance.
