Hengshan Heji-Institutional Reviews

Hengshan Heji is not just a bookstore, but a collection of lifestyles, integrating independent designer concept pavilions, exceptional women's clothing stores, and exceptional men's clothing stores, which opened in 2015. Hengshan Heji is known as the "small square firm", which is an attempt by Mao Jihong, the founder of the Fang Institute, in Shanghai.

Hengshan Heji is located in Hengshanfang, the "back garden of Xuhui", and the innovative collection is stationed in the old block, which can be called a beneficial injection. Hengshan Heji consists of 4 renovated villas with decades of history. The White Building is a bookstore with the theme of photography, film, and magazines, and the theme is "facing the creators of the future and the videographers of the future".

Hengshan Heji Bookstore has a total of 3 floors, and the first floor mainly provides movies and literature-related books. On the second floor, the focus of the exhibition has shifted to design-related books such as photography, painting, and architecture, as well as cultural and creative products such as postcards, creative tableware, T-shirts, and polaroids. The magazine wall is the focus of the 3rd floor, which is a pure magazine space created by Ling Hulei, the manager of Hengshan Heji, which collects more than 500 kinds of domestic and foreign magazines, including the discontinued collector's book, which can be called a condensed version of the magazine museum.

The space is too compact, which is the shortcoming of Hengshan Heji Bookstore: the passage between the bookshelves is narrow, and it can only accommodate 1 person to pass through, and if you want to choose books quietly in front of the shelves, I am afraid that you will often be disturbed; There is no special reading area in the bookstore, but there are a few sofas between the bookshelves, and there are not many places to sit.

Despite the small space, the bookstore has set up a mini café on the first floor, with a menu of Italian coffee, single product coffee, herbal tea and other options, the unit price is generally about 4 or 50 yuan, and the café provides some small round tables, which can only be used by readers who have consumed coffee.
