Fudan University has many bookstores, and Jingshi Bookstore is probably the largest of them. In 1993, there was an additional Jingshi Bookstore on Guoquan Road, and after more than 20 years of turmoil, Jingshi Bookstore still stands on Guoquan Road, and even shows a newer appearance in front of Fudan teachers and students.

In the early 90s, when the bookstore was first established, the name was "Pres", which is the transliteration of the English Press (publishing house), and later Mr. Nan Huaijin proposed that the bookstore be renamed Jingshi Bookstore, and personally wrote the current plaque. Now in the Jingshi Book Company, the complete works of Mr. Nan Huaijin are still displayed in a conspicuous place.

As soon as you enter the bookstore, a book ladder leading from the ground to the ceiling immediately catches the visitor's eye, which is composed of academic works published by Fudan University Press in recent years, and the starting and ending points are glass mirrors. On the right side of the entrance are four retro arches, where the bookstore has set up "special counters" for Chung Hwa Book Company, Commercial Press, Ancient Books Publishing House, CITIC Publishing House and World Book Publishing House, displaying books from this publishing house to provide convenience for readers to find books.

As the bookstore of Fudan University Press, Jingshi Bookstore has an extremely complete range of Fudan University Press books on the shelves, with a total of more than 2,000 kinds, accounting for about 1/7 of all books in the bookstore. The area in front of the statue of the principal of Fudan is very sought-after, especially at the beginning of the school year, because it is a teaching and auxiliary area, and hundreds of professional books can be found here.

After the renovation, Jingshi Bookstore has added a leisure area, cooperated with the dessert shop, and set up at the back of the bookstore, not only has an indoor area, but also a sun room, providing coffee, tea and small desserts, which is a good place for reading and self-study.

Jingshi Bookstore and Luming Bookstore are only 100 meters apart, but the two bookstores have different positioning, Luming Bookstore has stronger academic attributes, and Jingshi Bookstore is a comprehensive bookstore, both are loved by Fudan students, and both are worth visiting.
