Located in Rockbund, THE NEST is a Gastro Lounge jointly created by the dining and entertainment company MUSE and the team of Barcadi, a century-old wine merchant. Originating from the English tavern, Gastro Lounge was designed to combine wine and food to create a relaxed and comfortable atmosphere for people to eat and drink. As an upgraded version of Gastro Lounge, THE NEST is known for its modern design and musical atmosphere. Compared to other fine dining restaurants, the dining atmosphere here adds to the entertainment of nightlife, and whether it is wine or food, it can be taken out on its own.
The most iconic feature of THE NEST is the large fishbone light sculpture "Fly Beyond" above the lounge bar, which adds a touch of psychedelic and wild atmosphere to the minimalist industrial style space under the lighting. The entire restaurant lounge is presented as an open plan and streamlined space, consisting of a dining area, a lounge area and a terrace, where customers can sit in any position whether they are drinking or dining. You don't have to sit upright to dine here, but the environment can be a little noisy.
At THE NEST, you can enjoy fresh food from all over the world that is flown in daily. Among the ingredients, beef and seafood are the biggest highlights. The beef is made from Japanese Wagyu beef from Australia, and oysters are the star of the store, most of which come from France, but also from cold-water fishing areas such as Ireland, the Netherlands or Canada, depending on the season.
French Michelin-starred chef Freddie Raoult is obsessed with the concept of farm-to-table, and under his control, all dishes at THE NEST are both original and sophisticated, bringing the naturalness and simplicity of Pan-Nordic cuisine to the extreme. In addition to the direct grilling of the meat over wood charcoal, the meat will also be grilled in the Altoshaam low-temperature slow-smoked oven in the United States, which reduces the loss of moisture from beef, salmon and other ingredients during the roasting process, and the meat is extremely tender when produced.
On Sundays, Brunch runs from 11:30 to 3:00 p.m., and the Scandinavian-inspired set menu costs 198 RMB, with a choice of three courses from the menu and a welcome drink. If you're a fan of seafood, try half a dozen oysters or scallops to open up your taste buds for the day. Tender, plump charcoal-grilled cranberry macerated pork chops or richly layered salmon pancakes are also good choices. If you are going to dine, please remember to call in advance to make a reservation.
