Harrow School in London is one of the oldest well-known public schools in the United Kingdom, founded in 1572, for hundreds of years, Harrow School has cultivated many prime ministers, dignitaries and poets in the world, including former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill, King Hussein of Jordan, Indian Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, poet Byron and other talents from all walks of life. In 2005, Harrow International School Beijing opened its Anzhen Xili campus, and in 2013, the new campus in Hegezhuang was inaugurated, with Prince Charles, Prince of Wales and the Duke of York personally cutting the ribbon for the opening of the new campus. Currently, students from Primary to Senior Secondary study at the Ho Ge Zhuang Campus, while the Anzhen Campus continues to serve Harrow students as a dedicated Kindergarten campus.
In line with the British boarding school system, Harrow Beijing adopts a residential housing system, where students are assigned to six different residential homes when they enter junior secondary school, each named after a historical Harrow alumnus, and accommodates students from Year 6 to Year 8, who are managed by Senior School, Graduating School and Middle School Wardens, with dedicated House Teachers to help students in their study and life. Competitions are often held within and between homes to foster a sense of belonging and collective pride.
Harrow Beijing is a standard British education school, with many of the topics and skills from IGCSE used in the high school curriculum, all Year 9 students are required to study IGCSE Science, and Years 10 and 11 students can choose from GCSE or IGCSE. In Year 12, students enter their final year and begin to prepare for their AS Level and A Level exams.
Looking at the results of Harrow's further studies in 2017, only Imperial College London and University College London (UCL), which are G5, are considered top universities in the UK, while the top universities in the US are UCLA, Carnegie Mellon University and Brandeis University. On the whole, Britain and the United States are not strong enough in both directions, and the overall situation is unsatisfactory.
In terms of fees, the tuition fee of Harrow Beijing Primary School is about 200,000 yuan, and the middle and high school students need to spend about 250,000 yuan, in addition to miscellaneous expenses such as meals, bus fares, and activity fees.
