COVA-Merchant Reviews

COVA is also known as the LV of desserts, and this is more than just a metaphor. COVA, a famous Italian dessert shop with a history of more than 200 years, officially became a member of LVMH in 2013, and celebrities such as Verdi, Hemingway, and Leslie Cheung are its loyal customers. In 2017, COVA entered the MixC in Shenzhen, but in terms of its sincerity, service and production performance, it is far from people's expectations.

Mango cake is COVA's signature and was regarded as Leslie Cheung's favorite dessert during his lifetime. The structure is simple, with a three-tiered chiffon cake topped with Chanti cream and fresh mango cubes. It's just that this prestigious dessert seems to have suffered from the soil and water in Shenzhen, and the best part is the fresh and sweet mango pieces; The cake base can be light and fluffy; Chanti cream has a medium milk fat content and is not as smooth and delicate as it could be. The whole cake is very ordinary in terms of appearance and taste, the only thing it can do is that it is not so sweet, not easy to get tired, with the fame and the price of 78 yuan / piece 10% service charge, this is no surprise, even disappointing. In addition, the cut surface of the mango cake is often in a collapsed and loose state, and the cut of COVA Shenzhen store also has a lot of room for improvement.

Low-sugar oatmeal mousse is another main dessert, the advantage is that it smooths out the roughness of oat grains, can not get stuck in the throat while maintaining the brightness of the grains, the overall taste is silky and smooth, and reveals a rich Baileys wine aroma, which is more memorable than mango cake. But as a low-sugar cake, the sweetness is still too exuberant, the digestive base is slightly mediocre, and the aroma and chewing experience are very average.

Compared with COVA's exquisite grandeur in other cities, the Shenzhen store is much shabby. It is located on the corridor of the first and second phases of the MixC, with no independent storefronts and extremely poor privacy. COVA, another restaurant specializing in Italian dinner, has an independent store, but the level of the dishes is staggering. The service of both restaurants has been criticized, and it is almost the consensus of all diners that they are unprofessional, untimely, and inconsiderate. If you really want to make a pilgrimage to COVA, we recommend moving to the Hong Kong or Guangzhou store.
