Opened in 2000, Jingyi Teahouse is arguably one of the oldest vegetarian restaurants in Shenzhen. The dishes of Jingyi Teahouse are biased towards small dishes such as dim sum and vegetarian soup, and less spicy and imitation meat dishes, which is related to its business model of integrating tea and food. The environment is quiet and quaint, and it often attracts visitors from all over the world to come to drink tea or discuss Buddhism.
Although the building is a bit dilapidated, the Jingyi Teahouse on the seventh floor is full of charm. Under the plaque on the red cloth and black background is a Chinese-style door, and the spacious hall is scattered with dozens of rattan tables and chairs, making a pot of tea and a few plates of snacks can pass the time in an afternoon. In the room with the words "Fuhui Gate" written on it, several Buddha statues are enshrined for the believers to burn incense and worship, and the atmosphere is solemn. On the window side is a row of dining tables for four, with translucent glass to provide plenty of natural light and a view of the street, which is suitable for guests who feel that the hall is not well lit. Compared with the old store on Bao'an South Road, the Longhua store, which opened in 17 years, has a more concise and flexible style with bamboo as the theme, which is unique.
Cheese-baked sweet potatoes can be eaten in many restaurants, but a vegetarian restaurant deserves praise for controlling the taste of this dim sum so well. The cheese is roasted, the aroma penetrates downward, the hot sweet potato is a mixture of sweet and milky, the glutinous texture melts in the mouth, the only downside is the occasional lack of humidity and a dry taste. Cantonese people like to drink soup, and many vegetarian restaurants also provide soup, mainly mushrooms, because of the lack of meat, it always gives people a dull feeling. The radish stewed wheat bran in Jingyi Teahouse is not as expensive as mushrooms, and there are no dazzling "health effects", but the unique wheat aroma and the sweetness of the radish shreds, mixed with a little black pepper, are very warm to the stomach. There is also a relatively rare sea dragon grass here, although it is grass, but the taste is more like thickened and hardened fungus, stir-fried with ginger shreds, the chewy feeling is refreshing, it is a good meal.
Some of the waiters at Jingyi Teahouse are slow to respond, and the tablet ordering really brings trouble to many elderly customers. The two stores of Jingyi Tea House are vegetarian restaurants and tea houses in one, and friends who are dedicated to vegetarian food may wish to move upstairs to eat when there is no place for the tea house.
