One of the four major beer companies in Japan, along with Asahi, Sapporo and Suntory. Kirin Beer, formerly known as Nippon Beer Co., Ltd., was founded in 1885 as Japan's first beer company. According to Nikkei's 2016 data, Kirin Beer accounts for 33.4% of the beer market share in Japan, second only to Asahi Beer.
 
The flagship product of the Kirin is the Ichiban Press, an all-malt brewed beer with a wort concentration of 11°P that was first introduced in 1990. Ichiban press refers to brewing beer with only the first wort, rather than mixing the first wort with the second wort. Bar beer is commonly found in major convenience stores in China, and the simple yellow packaging is very eye-catching. Although this beer does not add rice, corn and other ingredients, it has beer syrup, and it has a slight wheat aroma when the can is opened, and the body is clear and cold, and the killing taste is strong, but the taste is extremely light. This beer is generally sold for 10 yuan per listen in convenience stores, which is less cost-effective.
 
In order to cater to the taste of Chinese consumers, Kirin has launched a light beer called "Innocence Taste", this beer adheres to the brewing process of Kirin's "Iban Squeezing", which is a Kirin beer brewed with starch, the original wort concentration is 7.5 °P, and the alcohol content is only 2.5% Vol, which is closer to water beer, without the characteristics of Kirin, and the price is not cheap, about 4.5 yuan / listen, which is not worth buying.
 
One of Kirin's strengths is the robustness of quality control, and even the beer produced in China has a taste that is almost the same as that produced in Japan.
