The Blizzard-ski trademark was officially registered in Austria in 1953, and many athletes have achieved excellent results in blizzard skis competitions. In 2003, Michi Dorfmeister won the title of World Champion in the all-around downhill with a blizzard ski. Every year, the Austrian Blizzard produces around 400,000 pairs of skis, some of which take up to 16 weeks to build from 18 different materials. Now they're working with IBM to use big data analytics to predict the impact of snowboard market trends, weather patterns, and other short-term market changes on the company's business, and are already able to respond quickly to changing market needs in specific ski regions. The data also helps them monitor the availability so they have the right materials on hand no matter how demand changes. Since using big data to drive production, the production cycle time for Blizzard skis has been reduced to 8 weeks. Blizzard skis are well selected and cost-effective.
