How about Hillsound Snow Cover Brand introduction

Recommended series/model: armadillo series

In North America, where Outdoor Research and Black Diamond are all the biggest brands, Canadian brand Hillsound has mainly relied on crampons and snow jackets to fight its way out, and has provided equipment for the North Shore Rescue (NSR) mountain search and rescue team for three consecutive years, and the product safety is quite guaranteed.

Different from the first two all-season product lines, Hillsound is located in Canada with a long winter, so its products are mainly aimed at winter walking and light mountaineering needs, the number of products is not much, the snow cover is only one armadillo series, the overall is not as heavy as the OR mountaineering snow cover, it is a light mountaineering product, the use is relatively single, can cope with the general situation.

Economical and durable are the main features of Hillsound's products, and in the first 10 years of business, Hillsound has transformed crampons from an expensive professional hobbyist device to a standard for ordinary outdoor sports, as well as snow covers, most of which are less expensive than Outdoor Research and Black Diamond.

The Super Armadillo Snow Cover is a classic of the Armadillo series, which is also considered Hillsound's mid-to-high-end product, and costs $79. The bottom half of Super Armadillo is made of SuperFabric, a material that combines a hexagonal rigid shield with the fabric to prevent the syringe from puncture and provides excellent resistance to chips. The gap between the hexagonal panels also provides good air permeability. The top half is a stretch fabric called Flexia, which fits the leg line, and the bottom edge is designed with curved lines, with Japanese YKK waterproof zippers, which can make the snow cover fit tighter with the hiking boots.

There is also an upgraded version of the Super Armadillo – the Super Armadillo Nano™ Snow Cover. Based on the Super Armadillo, the snow cover is coated with NanoSphere® Durable Water Repellent (DWR) to improve the water resistance of the snow cover, and the price is slightly higher than the former, at about $83.

ARMARDILLO LT™GAUTIER is a style designed for ordinary outdoor enthusiasts, focusing on cost performance, the price of $49 is only half of that of Super Armadillo, retaining the Flexia stretch fabric in the upper part, but the lower part is replaced by SuperFabric fabric with 1000D high-density nylon material to reduce the cost, and the wear resistance has been reduced, which is more suitable for light outdoor sports in non-extreme environments.

It should be noted that Hillsound's snow cover is worn with a zipper, while Outdoor Research and Black Diamond use Velcro, although there is not much difference in actual use, there may be some wear and tear in the zipper.
