The company was founded to produce a freestyle boat, the Glide, which was so ahead of its time that the rules were changed at the 1997 World Championships to limit its advantages and make the competition fairer. In 1999 another freestyle boat, the Disco, was produced, which was the pioneer of modern freestyle boating. Brand ambassador Steve Fisher set a world record by using a Batu Magnum kayak to plunge down a 116-foot (36-meter) drop unscathed.
