Salomon was born in the French Alps, the birthplace of modern snow sports, first in small workshops for skiing accessories, such as ski straps, and then for the Olympic Games in 1996. Salomon became part of the Adidas Group brand in the late 1990s and was acquired by Amer Sports Group, the parent company of Arc'teryx, in 2005, accelerating its global growth and now offering a wide range of sports products in more than 45 countries around the world.
Salomon's performance is not very impressive among a number of professional skiwear brands, the exclusive AdvancedSkin Dry four-way stretch fabric has a waterproof index of up to 20,000mm, which can withstand the impact of storms, but most products have a waterproof index of 10,000mm, although it can withstand the impact of moderate to heavy rain, but there is still a certain gap compared with professional-grade skiwear, and AdvancedSkin synthetic materials are far inferior to down or PrimaLoft® in terms of thermal performance. However, Salomon ski clothes are more affordable, and the price of entry-level ski clothes is about 2,000 yuan, which can be easily purchased in China, suitable for beginners with a large budget.
Skiers also recommend the Salomon S-LAB ski wear, which is made of Gore-Tex fabric, which is commonly used in professional outdoor brand apparel, and is more abrasion-resistant, water-repellent and breathable than AdvancedSkin Dry fabric. The MotionFit technology used in the tailoring of the garments focuses on areas that require flexible extension, such as the shoulders and knees, for maximum comfort when skiing. Waterproof zippers, goggle pockets and multimedia function pockets are all available. Unfortunately, this series of products is not yet available in China, and even in foreign markets, it is only sold offline.
