Phenix Phoenix Ski Wear Brand Introduction

Founded in the 50s of the last century, Phenix, a high-end ski brand from Japan, first released down ski wear in Japan in 1975, made it a popular product in the Japanese ski market at that time due to its fashion and functional characteristics. Phenix has been the official unified supplier of the Norwegian Alpine Ski Team since 1993, as well as the official supplier of the Japan Ski Association (SAJ), the Japan National Ski Team and the International Ski Federation (FIS).

Compared to Bogner, which uses a single polyamide fiber to make its ski wear, Phenix uses a variety of functional fabrics, such as Dermizax, which is widely used in Phenix ski wear, and has excellent performance. This non-porous membrane has high water resistance and moisture permeability, with a waterproof and moisture permeability index of 20,000mm and 10,000g/m²/24H respectively, while the waterproof of a general nylon umbrella is about 250mm, and the sweat generated by adults during strenuous exercise for 24 hours is converted into water vapor of about 24,000g. The upgraded version of the Dermizax®EV has a moisture permeability index of up to 20,000g/m²/24H, which is comparable to the water and moisture permeability of the Bogner Sport series, and at the same time has a light texture and high elasticity for improved wearing comfort.

Comfort is another highlight of Phenix ski wear, thanks to the combination of four-way stretch fabric, 3D Air Cutting, and a seamless laser cutting process. In skiing, the elbows and knees are basically in a symmetrical bend, and the four-way stretch fabric can be stretched from four different directions, up, down, left and right, maximizing the athlete's freedom of movement. Phenix's exclusive 3D Air Cutting technology can effectively reduce the pressure of clothing by about 85%, making it less likely to cause fatigue after wearing. Finally, the collar, shoulders, cuffs and hem are precisely cut through seamless laser cutting technology, with no traces of burrs on the edges, ensuring both aesthetics and waterproofing.

The suitable temperature for skiing should be between -12°C and 2°C, and if the temperature is too low, it will cause discomfort and affect skiing safety. The inside of the ski suit is mostly filled with synthetic chemical fiber or down, and has a hood and windproof cuffs and other designs to block the wind and snow, so if you ski in a warmer area, such as Switzerland, the temperature of the snow mountain is generally less than -10 °C, and there is plenty of sunshine. If the maximum temperature is -16°C to -12°C, the human body will be slightly uncomfortable, but you can still ski outdoors, then you need to wear a fleece jacket or down wear under the ski suit as an intermediate insulation layer.

Although skiwear is mainly used for wind, rain protection and breathability, the warmth performance is still a must-refer indicator when purchasing, and professional skiwear brands will not ignore this. The Plenix ski suits are mainly filled with down and microfiber PrimaLoft®, the latter of which is mostly found in the Norwegian Alpine Ski Team series, because professional ski competitions generate more heat than general experiential skiing and require less warmth, and the series of ski suits is generally paired with a middle soft shell of the same series as a warm layer.

If you're new to skiing and have a budget, consider a warmer range such as the Men's Outer-Spura and Women's Outer-Grace collections, which are filled with high-quality down and exclusive Thunderon®Digenite Thermo fibres that retain heat by absorbing natural sunlight and body energy. Therefore, the price is also much higher than the Norwegian alpine ski team series, such as the price of men's and women's jackets ranges from 5000-9000 yuan, while the Norwegian alpine ski team series ski jackets are generally about 4400 yuan, and the series also has a mid-layer fleece hoodie for sale, which can be layered to enhance warmth, and the price is about 2000 yuan, which is also very suitable for use alone in rainy and cold daily cities.

Phenix was established in China as early as the end of the last century, and was acquired by China Dongxiang Group in 2008.
