Founded in 1791, Girard-Perregaux is one of the oldest Swiss Haute Horlogerie brands and, above all, has never stopped producing in its long history. Girard-Perregaux, now part of the Kering Group, is one of the few watchmakers capable of mastering all the technologies and tools, from design to production, including the development of movements, rather than simply a watch brand. For more than two centuries, Girard-Perregaux has developed many outstanding designs and has been granted more than 80 technical patents, the most famous of which is the "Three Golden Bridges". At the 1889 Paris Exposition Universelle, Girard-Perregaux presented the Tourbillon with Three Golden Bridges, which won the Gold Medal, and after 1889 Girard-Perregaux was awarded a permanent jury, so after 1901 the Tourbillon with Three Golden Bridges was no longer allowed to participate. The Sanjin Bridge was not designed rashly, at first it was just to change the traditional tourbillon structure, and then it was added to the Double Gold Bridge, and finally it was finalized as the Sanjin Bridge, which was patented in the United States in 1884, and the reason why it is called the Sanjin Bridge is because the three splints have indeed used gold materials, and now they have tried more other precious metals. In 2016, on the occasion of its 225th anniversary, Girard-Perregaux unveiled the La Esmeralda Tourbillon, a tribute to the triple gold bridge tourbillon pocket watch, which won the gold medal at the 1889 Paris Exposition, and the 2016 GPHG "Tourbillon Watch Award" for CHF 194,000.
In the 60s of the last century, when the quartz crisis was about to come, Girard-Perregaux had already established a special department to develop quartz movements in 1966, and in 1969 developed quartz movements at the same time as Seiko, but it was mass-produced a year later than Seiko, but the current world standard for quartz watch frequency of 32,768Hz was formulated by Girard-Perregaux. Many of the models in the Laureato collection today also use quartz movements. Designed in 1975, Laureato's collection is similar to the Nautilus, the Royal Oak and even Vacheron Constantin's Nautilus, the Royal Oak, and even Vacheron Constantin.
Girard-Perregaux's women's watches are represented by the Cat Eye collection, which was pioneered by Girard-Perregaux in 2004, when the market for women's watches was not yet developed, and the Cat's Eye Golden Bridge Tourbillon won the 2016 GPHG "High-end Women's Mechanical Watch Award". The usual cat's eye is horizontally oval, but this one is vertical, with a red gold material and a feminine pattern engraved on the white mother-of-pearl face, and is powered by the GP09700-0113 automatic movement, priced at 849,900 RMB in China.
