La Optini was the first manufacturer of stainless steel cookware in Italy, having been producing stainless steel cookware as early as 1933, and the Casa Mia series of cookware produced in 1934 is still on display at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, and was acquired in 2005 as part of the SEB Group with WMF.
La Optini's products are all short-handled pressure cookers, which are different from the long-handled design of the WMF, which has only a single snap point, while the short-handled pressure cooker can be designed with a snap point every 180°, although it is aesthetically sacrificing, it will be more convenient to operate. But even so, the normal short handle design still can't be snapped with one hand.
La Optini has put a lot of effort into improving the ease of fastening the lid, applying corrugated mild steel to the lid of the pressure cooker, and bending the stainless steel by pressing down on the lever to open/fasten the lid, without any angle restriction and without rotating it. In addition, because there is no tooth opening, this design also greatly improves the sense of unity of the pressure cooker, and the appearance has been greatly improved.
In addition to being easy to operate, the corrugated mild steel lid can also play a buffering role, even if the exhaust hole is blocked and the pressure is overloaded, the mild steel lid can also be deformed for pressure relief, which can effectively avoid the explosion of the traditional pressure cooker after overload.
However, the hardness of the wavy mild steel lid is relatively poor, so the maximum boiling point supported by the Lagotini pressure cooker is 112°C, which is a bit different from the WMF, but the highly thermally conductive Thermoplan pot base can effectively shorten the heating time, making the Lagotini pressure cooker still good in terms of overall cooking efficiency.
At present, La Optini has three series of pressure cookers: Easy Rossa, Domina Vitamin, and Mayer, all of which are designed by the famous Italian designer Giugiaro. Among them, the entry-level Easy Rossa and the oldest Domina Vitamin have two capacities of 5L and 7L, priced at about 1600 yuan and 3200 yuan respectively, while Mayer is the largest one, which can accommodate 9L ingredients and is priced at about 2300 yuan.
All three La Optini pressure cookers are made of 316 medical-grade stainless steel, and apart from the difference in capacity, the main difference between the three products is the pressure bar. As a basic model, the Easy Rossa has a handle made of ordinary plastic, which is less durable, while Mayer uses a bakelite handle, which feels better and is more durable. Domina Vitamin is insulated with high-quality plastic, which offers the best durability and experience, but also the highest price.
