Xinghai was restructured in 1994 by Beijing Xinghai Musical Instrument United Company, and the core factory is Beijing Piano Factory, which was established in 1949. Beijing Piano Factory independently developed the first upright piano in New China, and in 1959, the world's largest 15-foot grand piano was specially made for the Great Hall of the People. In 2008, Xinghai's grand piano became the designated performance piano for the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympic and Paralympic Games, and its XG-286 was also stationed in the National Centre for the Performing Arts, which is the only Chinese brand in the National Centre for the Performing Arts, and Xinghai's current annual output is about 40,000 units. Xinghai's best ranking on the Piano Buyer is 4C (1A at Steinway) and is usually the last group, while Xinghai was not selected in the 2017 list.

 

From the point of view of materials, Xinghai's piano is not low in the same price range, taking XU118B as an example, the price of more than 10,000 yuan, the soundboard uses unequal thickness spruce solid wood soundboard, German Roslau strings, the hammer is made of mahogany and Japanese woolen felt, the action is designed by the German pianist Lauschel, the European standard pinplate, the pitch is stable, can express different strong and weak sounds, and the level is clear. The biggest drawback is reliability, after a period of use, there is a certain chance that the keys will fail, especially in the wet season, the keys may be unresponsive.
