Like Dingyun and Dunhuang, Dongyun and Vermilion Bird also have a relationship. Dongyun Guzheng was founded by Professor Zhai Zhirong, the founder of Suzaku Guzheng and former president of Xi'an Conservatory of Music. After retiring from the Xi'an Conservatory of Music, Professor Zhai developed and designed a new type of guzheng and founded the Dongyun brand, which won the national invention patent and the National Science Progress Award.
 
Dongyun Guzheng is similar to Suzaku in terms of production method, but it is not exactly the same. In addition to the high-level zheng, which uses the same traditional whole digging process as the Suzaku, there are also some popular zhengs that use the folding plate process, and some intermediate playing zhengs use the puzzle digging process (only the panel part is the digging process), and they also incorporate their own characteristics in the production process. For example, the high-end zither panel has been adjusted in thickness, arc, and sound groove size, and the internal sound groove is wider and flatter than that of Suzaku, which also ensures the overall vibration. The number of sound outlets in the bottom plate is increased, and it is arranged in a star shape, which is convenient for sound transmission, and the sound radiation is more directional.
 
The Suzaku zither lacks penetration in the high register, making it not suitable for playing modern repertoire. By combining the pronunciation characteristics of Western cello, bass, Korean zheng, etc., Professor Zhai added a longitudinal column to the inside of the panel of the Dongyun whole zither, which made the panel vibration orderly, and the transition between the high, medium and low pitch was natural and unified, which not only strengthened the penetration of the treble area, but also improved the shortcomings of the original Shaanxi zither treble insufficiency.
 
Through a series of improvements, the timbre of the treble area of Dongyun Zhengzheng is higher and more balanced than that of Suzaku, the midrange is mellow and thick, the bass is also rich, the aftersound is long, and the timbre of the three pitches is unified and distinct. Dongyun Guzheng is mainly divided into 7 series: Oriental Shen Yun, Moon Palace Xiangyun, Dragon and Phoenix Chengxiang, Sound of Nature, Tang Hua Yuan Yun, Still Water Kite Heart, and Tang Feng Ancient Rhyme.
 
The popular zither of the Dongyun entry is still a frame zither with folding plate technology, and there is no outstanding advantage compared with other brands, and the 085 and 086 models of the Dongfang Shen Yun series are suitable for beginners to buy. Among them, 085 is the most preferential model in Dongyun frame zheng, 086 is slightly darker than 085's piano table, and the two are the same in terms of material selection and production methods. Dongyun's Yuegong Xiangyun series 098, 102 and 103 models of the intermediate playing zither adopt the spelling and digging process, and the transition of the sound area is more natural, among which the 098 is similar to the Suzaku in appearance, and the tail is designed with a copper carriage pattern, which has the lowest price in the zither.
 
In addition to the Oriental Shen Yun and Moon Palace Xiangyun series, the remaining 5 series of Dongyun are all high-level performance zhengs, among which the 116 models of the Sound of Heaven series have a balanced performance in each sound area, which is suitable for teachers and art candidates in professional colleges. The 219 model of the Static Water Kite Heart series is a treble steel wire zither, the appearance of the zither string is not wrapped with nylon wire, and the whole is an octave higher than the traditional zither, which is generally used by the band.
 
In terms of appearance, the mountain of Dongyun is higher than that of Suzaku, which increases the distance between the strings and the panel, making the plucking of the strings smoother. The appearance of the piano body is similar to that of the Suzaku and the piano lacquer finish is used, and the body is smooth and bright. Dongyun has been painted by artificial water grinding for many times to ensure a thicker thickness of the paint film, so it is more wear-resistant, not easy to crack, and has a longer service life.
 
In terms of guzheng specifications, Dongyun is different from the standard shape of traditional guzheng S21-163, the length of the guzheng is generally 162cm, and there are some specifications of 116cm and 152cm straight Yueshan small guzheng, as well as 150cm 18-string small guzheng, which is generally chosen by professional guzheng players. Dongyun's production strength and scale are not as good as those of Suzaku, and its high-end zithers use a time-consuming whole digging process, so the output is lower. Dongyun is currently not sold on e-commerce platforms, and online purchases can only be made through authorized music stores, and offline can be purchased after audition in the physical store of the music store.
