Bombardier in China

Bombardier's cooperation with China began in the 50s of the 20th century, and over the decades, Bombardier's rail transportation and aviation products have been widely used in China's major markets as the cooperation in manufacturing, technology and personnel has intensified.

Bombardier Transportation's cooperation with China dates back to 1954. Bombardier Transportation has been actively involved in the construction of China's urban rail transit and advanced railway network, and is firmly committed to introducing world-class technology and advanced management concepts to China.

Bombardier Transportation currently has six joint ventures and seven wholly owned enterprises (WFOEs) in China.

Bombardier's aerospace business is growing rapidly, with rapid and steady growth in both customers and deliveries in recent years. We are also increasingly focused on R&D and manufacturing opportunities in the Chinese market, where Bombardier Aerospace has established long-term partnerships with a number of commercial airlines, including Shandong Airlines, Shanghai Airlines, UNI Air, China Eastern Airlines Yunnan and China Express Airlines, with 47 Bombardier-built commercial aircraft operating in China.

China is one of several emerging business aviation markets in the world today. The trend of globalization, the growing travel demand of business people, and the growing awareness of business jets are all accelerating the development of China's business aviation market.

Bombardier, a leading business jet manufacturer in the Chinese market, delivered the first Global Express 5000 business jet to customers in Chinese mainland in July 2009, and the first Learjet 60XR aircraft and Challenger 850 aircraft to private customers in Chinese mainland in March 2010. This series of milestone deliveries represents another important step forward for Bombardier in China, where Bombardier business jets continue to grow, with more than 100 Bombardier jets currently serving high-end customers in Chinese mainland, accounting for one-third of China's entire business jet fleet.
