Founded in 1952, Harbin Aircraft Industry Group Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Aviation Industry Hafei) is one of the first six main engine factories in the aviation industry of New China, one of the 156 key construction projects in China's "First Five-Year Plan" period, and is the R&D and manufacturing base for helicopters and advanced composite components in China, with a national technology center and postdoctoral workstation. The company is located in Pingfang District, Harbin City, covering an area of 3.56 million square meters.
In the history of the company, it has successfully developed and produced China's first helicopter Z-5, the first light jet bomber H-5, the first generation of large water anti-submarine bomber H-5 and other models. Since the reform and opening up, it has successively developed and produced Z-9 series helicopters, HC120 helicopters, Y-12 series light multi-purpose aircraft, and jointly produced ERJ145 regional airliners and Legacy 650 business jets with Embraer. Among them, the Y-12 aircraft is the first aircraft in China to obtain the British CAA and the United States FAA type certification. The company's main products are Z-9 series helicopters, Z-19 armed helicopters, Y-12 series aircraft and Y-12F general aircraft, and the products under development include Z-19E helicopters, AC352 helicopters, AC312E helicopters and AC312C helicopters.
The company has advanced advantages in the manufacturing of aviation composite components, and has established a joint venture with Airbus to supply Airbus A350 and A320 series aircraft composite parts, and undertakes the development and production of aircraft parts for large passenger and large carriers. Over the past 60 years since its establishment, the company has delivered more than 2,500 helicopters and aircraft, making important contributions to China's aviation industry and national defense construction.
