The history of the company
Embraer was founded on August 19, 1969. With the support of the Brazilian government, the company has successfully transformed from a local technology company to a global aviation industry flow manufacturer.
The company's business began with the production of dual-use 15-21 Bandeirante turbo transport aircraft. Subsequently, Embraer was also licensed by the Italian company Aermacchi to produce a replica of the EMB 326 Xavante, an advanced trainer/ground attack jet, commissioned by the Brazilian government. Embraer's design and production activities were also marked by the EMB 400 Urupema high-performance glider and the EMB 200 Ipanema agricultural sprayer.
In the late '70s, Embraer quickly climbed to new heights in technology and industry with the development of new models, including the EMB 312 Super Tucano military trainer and EMB 120 Brasilia turboprop, and later the AMX Trainer/Attack Jet project with Alitalia (now Alenia) and Amacchi, Italy.
Since then, the ERJ145 platform and the E-Series jets have been a huge success; At the same time, Embraer's position in the business jet market was established with the launch of the Phenom, Legacy and Hereditary series jets, as well as the expansion of its business in the aviation services market, laying a solid foundation for the company's future.
We are currently a major exporter in Brazil, with customers all over the world as well as important partners with an international reputation; The company has a rich product line and services, mainly focused on four business areas: commercial jets, business jets, defense and security markets and operating systems.
We are determined to remain a major global supplier to the aerospace sector and the defense and security markets. Before the end of the year, the KC-390 will make its maiden flight. This is a military-tactical aircraft that will confirm new standards in this area. In 2015, the newly developed E2 jet will make its maiden flight of the three E-jet series.
