Founded in 1827, Ballantine's was founded in 1827 by George Ballantine's first bottle in Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland. Today, this preeminent representative of traditional Scotch blended whisky is renowned worldwide for its 180-year-old brewing tradition and exceptional taste.

In 1827, obscurity began, when George Ballantine opened his first shop at the age of 19 and brewed his first bottle of whiskey (Ballantine's).

It has a strong Scotch whisky flavor and quickly became the most prestigious Scotch whisky brand.

In 1937, the company was certified as a heraldic officer, which gave George Ballantine and his descendants the title of "Scottish Noble Enterprise". To this day, every bottle of Scotch whisky is affixed with this heraldic emblem conferred. Today, Ballantine has captured most of the European market and has become a global brand.

In 1977 the Dumbuck Ageing near Dumbarton was becoming more and more mature, and a few miles from the company's headquarters in Dumbarton, Europe's best blending and mill was opened. Finally, in 2005, the company became part of the global group as a subsidiary of the global French wine and spirits company Pernod Ricard, known as Chivas Brothers LTD.

Ballantine's success began in the '70s, when Ballantine's headquarters in Dambarton established a plant in what is known as the best blending bottling plant in Europe, and by 2005 Ballantine's was acquired by Pernod Ricard, a French wine and spirits company, which became a subsidiary of the French wine and spirits company and changed its name to Chivas Brothers LTD.
