Tamagawai pickles began in 1920 and has a history of more than 70 years. At that time, the Yuchuanju Sauce Garden, which produced Yuchuanju pickles, was located at No. 5, Yuchuanju Street, East Building, Hexi District, Tianjin. The founder, Zhang Yuan, a native of Ninghe County, was determined to do business when he was young, wanted to establish a foothold in Tianjin, and hoped to do a business that no family could live without. So he opened a grocery store, first engaged in pickles, oil, salt, sauce, vinegar, incense, candles, paper, local products and other groceries, because of its processing and production of pickles good flavor, high quality and low price, deeply loved by consumers, the sauce garden gradually developed and expanded, and later became a sauce garden based on the operation of pickles.

When the sauce garden opened. The area around the East Building is sparsely populated in the wilderness, and later shops were set up and residents moved in. At that time, when the street was named lane, the Tamagawaju Sauce Garden was already famous, so it was named Tamagawaju Street and Tamagawaju Back Street, which shows the popularity of the sauce garden in the East Building area at that time.

The store hall of Yuchuanju Sauce Garden is hung with a large couplet of "Yuzhen Jinsheng Avenue with wide financial resources, endless rivers and eternal career" written by Tianjin calligraphers stone pattern society, so as to dwell in the vast source of wealth, endless streams, and eternal foundation. Later, due to Zhang Yu'an's old age and declining health, his son Zhang Qichang succeeded him as the manager of the sauce garden. The sauce garden covers an area of 666 square meters and has 11 employees. Due to the insistence on high quality, good reputation, fair trading, and the way of doing business without bullying, although it is located in a remote alley, it is still a surplus of new and old customers, and the business is thriving. More than 20 varieties of pickled cucumbers, pickled side dishes, pickled radish, sauced ground rings, coriander, leek flowers, bergamot, noodle sauce, hot sauce, water head, spring bulao, salted radish and so on are very distinctive. The pickles are pickled with the crisp and tender and sweet texture of Jinghai vegetables watered with canal water, and the natural noodle sauce is made by themselves, and the five-spice powder is ground to achieve real materials, adhere to the formula standard feeding, and carefully operate according to the traditional process, and its products are enduring.

Before the liberation of Tianjin, Yuchuan Ju Sauce Garden suffered heavy losses due to a fire, which put its production and operation on the verge of collapse, and its business was sluggish, and its business was in a depression, and it was in danger of going out of business. After the liberation of Tianjin in 1949, with the strong support of the Tianjin Municipal People's Government, the sauce garden was revitalized. In 1956, when the public-private partnership was established, the number of employees in the sauce garden had grown to 16, and it was incorporated into the pickle processing factory under the Hexi District Vegetable and Non-staple Food Company. In July 1965, the processing plant was assigned to the leadership of the Municipal Vegetable Food and Grocery Company, and was named Tianjin Sixth Seasoning Brewing Factory, and later merged into the Third Seasoning Brewery as the pickle workshop of the factory. In 1998, when the factory and the company were united, Tianjin Limin Seasoning Brewing Group Co., Ltd. was established, and "Yuchuanju" became the company's brand, with an annual production capacity of 1 million kilograms of various pickles. In 2005, Limin Seasoning Brewing Group Co., Ltd. moved eastward to the Airport Logistics Processing Zone and established Tianjin Limin Seasoning Co., Ltd.

In 1993, the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China awarded "Yuchuanju" the title of "China Time-honored Brand". In 2002, "Yuchuanju" was rated as a famous trademark in Tianjin. "Yuchuanju" brand high-grade pickles, for many years awarded the title of "consumer trustworthy products" by the Ministry of Commerce, Yuchuanju pickles series products are deeply loved by the people.
