Meishan, formerly known as Meizhou, is located in the southwest of the Sichuan Basin. It has a history of more than 1,400 years, abundant products and talents. Su Xun, Su Shi, and Su Zhe, father and son, who are listed as the "Eight Masters of the Tang and Song Dynasties", are all from Meizhou. Among them, the great writer Su Dongpo is also a master of food, he traveled to 16 cities across the country in his life, tasted all over the country, and created a unique set of Dongpo cuisine and elegant food style, which has become a magnificent chapter in Chinese food culture.

Mr. Wang Gang, the founder from Su Dongpo's hometown, entered Beijing at the age of 16 to learn cooking skills, and was the home chef of Marshal Ye Jianying, and was known as the "presidential chef" Master Gan Guoqing. After years of honing and painstaking research, he has cultivated excellent cooking skills, and has done a lot of sorting, research and innovation work in inheriting Dongpo food culture, forming a set of Meizhou Dongpo cuisine featuring Dongpo culture and Sichuan cuisine as the foundation, and integrating the strengths of the eight major cuisines.

In June 1996, the first Meizhou Dongpo Restaurant opened in Beijing. At present, it has realized the layout of chain network stores with Beijing as the center and covering Sichuan, Hebei, Hubei, Shaanxi and other provinces and cities. On December 18, 2013, Meizhou Dongpo Beverly Hills store in Los Angeles was opened, marking a new step towards the group's mission of "cooking for people all over the world". The group has now developed into four major companies: "Meizhou Dongpo Catering Management (Beijing) Co., Ltd.", "Sichuan Wangjiadu Food Co., Ltd.", "Beijing Meizhou Hotel Management Co., Ltd.", and "Meizhou Dongpo Group Co., Ltd.", and its brands have three major formats: "Meizhou Dongpo Restaurant", "Wangjiadu Hot Pot" and "Meizhou Snack". It is a large chain with more than 100 directly operated stores around the world.

The company has been adhering to the concept of "civilianization of high-end dishes and refinement of civilian dishes", taking Yuanquan 5S as the management basis, ISO9001 management system as the main product implementation standard, and HACCP management system as the food safety management standard. It has successively won the "Sichuan Famous Restaurant", "Chinese Famous Restaurant", "Asian Famous Restaurant", etc., and has won the "Beijing Famous Trademark" for three consecutive years. In 2001, it was identified by Tsinghua University as the first Chinese food tracking case of MBA, and in March 2014, it was proposed to be included in the tracking case by Harvard University. In June 2012, he won the Yiyin Golden Image Award, the highest award named after the ancestor of Chinese chefs, at the first Olympic Park International Gastronomy Competition held in Beijing.

In June 2008, after layers of screening, the company became the catering service provider of the Olympic Village (Paralympic Village) operation team of the 29th Olympic Games Organizing Committee, and won the honor of "Chinese Taste, Olympic Standard".
