Yantai Changyu Group Co., Ltd., formerly known as "Changyu Brewing Company", was founded in 1892 by Zhang Bishi, a famous patriotic overseas Chinese industrialist in modern China, with an investment of 3 million taels of silver, and is the first industrial wine production enterprise in China.
In 1994, Changyu Company carried out the transformation of the standardized company system in accordance with the Company Law, and established Yantai Changyu Group Co., Ltd. In 1997 and 2000, Changyu successfully issued and listed B shares and A shares, becoming the only listed company in the same industry in China to issue both A and B shares.After more than 100 years of development, Changyu has developed into the largest wine production and operation enterprise in China and Asia.The group's leading products are wine, brandy, sparkling wine and health wine, with an annual comprehensive production capacity of more than 100,000 tons.
Changyu Group has developed and built more than 25 million acres of high-quality grape planting bases in Yantai, Ningxia, Xinjiang and other regions, of which more than 90% are high-grade grape varieties represented by "snake dragon pearl". More than 80% of the company's production equipment is imported from Europe and the United States, which is synchronized with the wine production equipment of developed countries. With a total investment of 200 million yuan, the fermentation center can process 30,000 tons of raw wine per year, making it the largest and most modern grape wine processing base in Asia.
Changyu Group also has the only "National Enterprise Technology Center" and "Postdoctoral Research Workstation" in the industry, and has introduced a number of outstanding domestic and foreign experts in grape planting and winemaking. In terms of brewing technology and technology, it is in the leading position in China and has reached the international advanced level.
Since the 1915 Panama International Exposition, Changyu Coya, Red Rose, Gewürztraminer (Vermouth) and Riesling won the gold medal, Changyu products have been on the list in previous national wine appraisals and world famous wine competitions, and have won 16 international gold and silver medals and 20 national gold and silver medals. Cabernet Dry Red, Riesling Dry White, Vermouth, Gold Medal Brandy, Treasure Three Whips Wine and other award-winning and well-known wines. Changyu wine, brandy and three whip wines have all won the title of China's famous brand products.
In view of Changyu's outstanding contribution to the international wine industry, in 1987, the International Grape & Wine Bureau officially named Yantai as the "International Grape & Wine City", which is also the first international wine city in Asia.
For more than 100 years, many political celebrities and literati have left their footprints and praise in Changyu. In 1912, Mr. Sun Yat-sen wrote an inscription for Changyu "Pinzhong Liquan", in 1932 Zhang Xueliang wrote "Guidun Yimou" for Changyu, in 1992, during the centennial celebration of Changyu, General Secretary Jiang Zemin wrote an inscription for Changyu "The waves want to have a poetic taste, and brewing can be fragrant", and in 2005, Lien Chan, honorary chairman of the Kuomintang, visited Changyu and wrote an inscription "I am drunk and happy, and I forget the opportunity together".
In 2005, with the strong support of the Yantai Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government, Changyu Company successfully realized its restructuring and introduced two foreign investors, Italy's Italian Ava and the United States' World Bank International Finance Corporation, to become a Sino-foreign joint venture with diversified equity.
After the restructuring, the new Changyu is market-oriented, innovative and full of vitality. Since 1997, the comprehensive market share of its products in the domestic market has been ranked first in the industry for 12 consecutive years, and in 2007 it became the first Asian company to rank among the top 10 in the world's wine industry, and in 2008, the ranking rose again, and Changyu currently ranks seventh among the world's wine production and operation enterprises. In the next five years, the company will strive to achieve the goal of annual sales revenue of 10 billion yuan and profits and taxes of 2 billion yuan, and strive to enter the first camp of the world's wine industry and become an internationally renowned wine enterprise group.
