Founded in 1991 and listed on the Main Board of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited in May 1997 (stock code: 00590.HK), Luk Fook Group is one of the major jewellery retailers in Hong Kong and Chinese mainland. Luk Fook Holdings (International) Limited (the "Company") and its subsidiaries (collectively, the "Group") were founded by a group of seasoned jewellery professionals who have brought together the founding shareholders with over 40 years of experience in the jewellery industry.
The Group is principally engaged in the procurement, design, wholesale, trademark licensing and retail of various types of yellow platinum jewellery and jewellery products. The Group currently has more than 1,500 Luk Fook jewellery retail stores in Hong Kong, Macau, Chinese mainland, Singapore, Korea, Malaysia, the United States, Canada and Australia. The Group will continue to look for new business opportunities in the international market to support the development of the "Hong Kong Top Brand, International Interpretation".
As early as 1994, the Group began to enter the Chinese mainland market with the opening of its first Lukfook jewellery store. Currently, the Group operates more than 1,430 stores in Chinese mainland. In addition to first- and second-tier cities, the Group is also actively expanding its retail network to other cities. In addition, the Group has also strategically opened flagship stores in key regions to deepen its penetration in the Chinese mainland market.
In order to further enhance cost-effectiveness and production efficiency, the Group has built a large-scale jewellery processing plant with a total area of over 35,000 square metres in Nansha District, Guangzhou since 2003. When the new plant is fully operational, the total output will be doubled. The self-owned jewellery processing plant enables Luk Fook Group to achieve a "one-stop production model" for its products, providing quality products to Lukfook jewellery stores around the world, ensuring a stable supply and easier control of product quality. In 2008, the plant was certified by the ISO9001 Quality Management System and in 2009 by the ISO14001 Environmental Management System, which is a testament to the international standard and professional recognition of its quality assurance system and product quality standards.
In 1996, the Group established a wholly-owned subsidiary, Chung Hwa Jewellery Appraisal Centre, to provide services such as diamond identification, grading, jadeite and colored stone appraisal and jewellery quality assessment. In 2005, the Centre became one of the first accredited gem laboratories to comply with the HKAS ISO/IEC 17025 certification of jadeite jadeite. In 2009, it was recognized for diamond grading test; In 2015, it successfully obtained ISO 11426, the international standard for fire testing of gold, which can issue internationally recognised gold test reports, becoming the only jewellery laboratory in Hong Kong that meets the three accreditation requirements set out in HKAS ISO/IEC 17025 at the same time, including jadeite jadeite testing, diamond testing and gold content testing. In addition, it is the first jewellery laboratory in Hong Kong to successfully pass the certification of the Chinese National Standard GB/T9288 Gold Testing Method, and has also complied with the ISO 9001:2008 quality management system standards, which is a testament to the international standard and professional recognition of its quality assurance system and product quality standards.
In 2013, the Group established the Victorian Institute of Jewelry and Jewelry Studies, which is principally engaged in jewellery appraisal and professional training, and set up appraisal centres in Hong Kong and China to provide services to the jewellery industry and general consumers. The College is accredited by the Laboratory Accreditation Bureau (L-A-B) to issue internationally recognized ISO/IEC 17025 diamond grading reports and jadeite (jadeite jadeite) test reports.
