Founded in 1846, it is an internationally renowned Spanish leather goods, clothing, perfume and eyewear brand, exuding a unique luxury brand of Spanish aristocratic style
Founded in 1846, Loewe represents the highest luxury in Spain, specializing in leather goods, ready-to-wear, accessories and perfumes. In 1996, the Maison joined the LVMH Group, a world-renowned luxury brand. Loewe now has more than 150 boutiques in 34 countries and employs more than 1,200 people. The company is headquartered in Madrid, with branches in Hong Kong and Tokyo.
It all started in Madrid in 1846, when Enrique Loewe Roessberg, a German with a passion for Spanish culture, partnered with the city's best leathermen and quickly became a status symbol for the local aristocracy and bourgeoisie.
During the reign of Alfonso XIII, Loewe was appointed "Supplier to the Crown". At the beginning of the twentieth century, Loewe became Spain's premier specialist in luxury brands and leather goods.
At the end of the 1930s, the boutique on Madrid's Gran Via became the brand's flagship store, combining the essence of Loewe. In the 1940s and 1950s, an unprecedented concept of window decoration was born here and in the boutique on Avenida de la Gracia in Barcelona. In the 1960s, Loewe expanded its international business and began to produce silk fabrics and ready-to-wear collections. The brand first launched the fragrance "L de Loewe" in 1972. Ten years later, the Loewe Foundation was founded, and the men's ready-to-wear collection was launched. In 1996, the brand joined the LVMH Group, a world-renowned luxury brand.
Today, Loewe is so vibrant thanks to its new Creative Director, Stuart Vevers. British-born Evers joined in 2008 with a mission to extend the brand's classic values into the future.
