Founded in 1978, the famous American electric guitar brand mainly promotes the production of Soloist guitars with bow drum surfaces, which enjoy the title of "metal guitar" in the industry and are popular among rock music lovers
JACKSON'S GUITAR BEGAN PRODUCTION IN THE EARLY 80'S, AND THE BASIC IDEA WAS TO FURTHER DEVELOP FENDER'S STRATOCASTER, INCLUDING THE USE OF FLOYD-ROSE BRIDGES (ROCKER SYSTEM) AND HUMBUCKER PICKUPS, AND THE HANDLEBARS WERE CHANGED TO THINNER (WHICH IS A GREAT HELP FOR THOSE WHO LOVE TO PLAY QUICKLY), WITH 24 BARS ON IT (WHICH CAN PLAY HIGHER NOTES), AND THE NECK (NUT) WAS EQUIPPED WITH A LOCKING SYSTEM. THE HEADSTOCK HAS BEEN CHANGED TO A BLADE-LIKE SHAPE.
ALL OF THESE DESIGNS WERE ADOPTED BY MANY HEAVY METAL GUITARISTS IN THE 80'S (FASTER AND LOUDER) BY JACKSON'S FAMOUS HEAVY METAL GUITARISTS INCLUDE FORMER OZZY GUITARIST RANDY RHOADS, MEGADETH'S DAVE MUSTAINE AND MARTY FRIEDMAN, DEF LAPARD'S PHIL COLLEN AND ANTHRAX'S SCOTT IAN.
Wayne Charvel started a guitar repair shop in 1975, he hired Grover Jackson, and after some setbacks, Grover bought the brand from Wayne in 1978.
Eddie Van Halen custom-built a guitar in Charvel and then recorded the famous "Eruption". Since then, Charmel has become famous all over the world.
One day, a young man came to Charvel and wanted to customize a guitar, and that person was Randy Rhoads. He designed his own guitar with the help of Charvel's staff. Because the design and other mass-produced guitars of Charvel were too big (at the time, Charmel only made strat-type guitars), Grover Jackson did not want to mass-produce this model under the Charvel brand, so Jackson was born.
Then another guy named Kelly came to make the guitar to order, and he got the help of Mike Shannon (Jackson's master carpenter) to design another guitar with a strange shape, and of course another Jackson was born.
Since then, Charvel has been producing strat-type guitars. Jackson, on the other hand, produces guitars with extreme shapes.
