Mattel Inc. (NYSE: MAT), also known as Mattel Inc., is an American branded toy company that is the largest toy business by revenue. Famous products: Hot Wheels, Matchbox, Barbie, Board Game, The Lion King, Naruto, UNO, The Simpsons, etc.

In 1945, Ruth Handler and her husbands Elliot Handler and Harold Matson founded Mattel in a garage, headquartered in El Segundo, Southern California. The first product was PictureFrames, and later Elliot turned the product to a doll's house.

In 1959, Ruth Handler published the world's most famous Barbie doll, inspired by her daughter's tailor-made paper dolls, which was very popular with a large number of little girls and mothers, and has sold more than 1 billion dolls to date.

In November 1997, the establishment of the Global Manufacturing Practice (GMP) was announced, covering topics such as wages and hours, child labor, forced labor, discrimination, and trade union organization, and Professor Sethi of CUNY was invited to form the team.

On April 27, 2002, Ruth Handler died in Los Angeles, USA.

On August 15, 2007, it announced the recall of more than 18 million Chinese-made toys, including 9.5 million in the United States, including "certain dolls, dolls, toy sets, and accessories that may cause small, powerful magnets to loosen."

In Chinese mainland, Mattel has five branches in Shenzhen, Dongguan and Foshan. Mattel Toy Technology Consulting (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. was established in 2000 and is located in Henggang Town, Shenzhen.
