Jiuxi is located in the west of the West Lake, under the rooster comb ridge of the mountains, with Longjing Lion Peak and Yangmeiling as the source, flowing to the Qiantang River, twisting and turning on the way, converging into nine streams, and there are many trickles, so it is called "Nine Creeks and Eighteen Streams".
Jiuxi Eighteen Streams is a Y-shaped stream, with a total of three entrances and exits, namely Longjing Village on the left of the "Y" figure, Yangmeiling on the upper right and Jiuxi Road below. The intersection in the middle of the three roads is called "Creek in the Creek". There are various routes to visit Jiuxi, if you go on foot, Jiuxi Road-Xizhongxi-Longjing Village is the most recommended, passing through the Eighteen Imperial Tea Gardens, Longjing Eight Scenes, China Tea Museum and other scenic spots. After arriving at Longjing, you can also walk ten miles of Langjing, which is also the West Mountain Hiking Trail in Hangzhou, with a total distance of about 11 kilometers. If you go by car, it is more suitable to take the section of Jiuxi Road-Xizhongxi-Yangmeiling, and there is a parking lot in the scenic area, which is convenient for sightseeing.
At the confluence of the two streams of the Nine Creeks and Eighteen Streams, the Nine Creeks Smoke Tree is one of the new ten scenic spots of the West Lake, and it is also the point of the entire Nine Creeks and Eighteen Streams. The attraction of the Nine Creek Smoke Tree is a small lake surrounded by mountains and forests, and the water of the lake changes color with the change of sunlight. Every time after the rain, the smoke rises from the woods on the nearby Bajue Mountain, which has the feeling of "fairyland", forming a beautiful landscape like "smoke trees", so it is called "Jiuxi Smoke Tree".
From April to November every year, it is the season to go to Jiuxi. If you come to Jiuxi in summer, tourists may wish to change into non-slip slippers and step into the roadside streams, which are full of wild fun. Autumn is the most beautiful season in Jiuxi, the fiery red leaves and the turquoise stream blend together, complement each other, and the scenery is beautiful. Bridges and promenades are paved on both sides of the Nine Creek Smoke Tree, and visitors can shuttle between the two banks.
The ancient temple of Li'an Temple is not far from the smoke tree of Jiuxi, and there is a mountain spring scenic spot "Fa Rain Spring" that is as famous as Hupao Spring. The temple was built in the Ming Dynasty and was large and richly decorated in its heyday, but today's buildings have been rebuilt by later generations. The location of the temple is hidden, after entering the temple, go up the steps along the right side of the Fayu Pavilion, you can see a large square well, this is the Fayu Spring. There is a water pipe stretching out next to the square well, many local residents take water here, the spring water of the rain spring is sweet and clear, tourists can take it properly, or bottle it to take away, the spring water is also very good to make tea.
