Located in the Qingliangfeng National Nature Reserve at the junction of Zhejiang Province and Anhui Province, the Grand Canyon of West Zhejiang is the longest canyon in East China with the best vegetation protection, and is known as the "No. 1 Tourist Canyon in East China".
The mountain where the canyon is located is the residual vein of the extension of the Yellow Mountain, a source of the Qiantang River water system passes through it, the canyon tourist area is in the form of a linear ring belt, which is divided into three scenic sections, among them, the first scenic section Longjing Gorge is also the only scenic section that can receive tourists at present, including the four major scenic spots of Tuolin Waterfall, White Horse Cliff, Lao Jiexi and Jianmen Pass.
Tuolin Waterfall Scenic Area
After entering the scenic spot from the ticket office, the first thing you come to is the Tuolin Waterfall Scenic Area. Tuolin Waterfall Scenic Area is the smallest of the four scenic spots in the Grand Canyon of western Zhejiang. Tuolin Waterfall is characterized by two waterfalls above and below, the upper waterfall is Longmen Waterfall, the waterfall surface is wide, the lower waterfall is Yansheng Waterfall, and the waterfall surface is slender. The scenic area includes the grass house, the double board bridge, the carp stone, the Longmen Lake and other landscapes, the entertainment projects of the Grand Canyon are rich and diverse, and the big slide in the Tuolin Waterfall Scenic Area is deeply loved by tourists. The big slide is a granite chute of nearly 200 meters, which connects the top of the mountain and the foot of the mountain, and is equipped with protective nets and handrails.
Jianmen Pass Scenic Area
Jianmen Pass Scenic Area is close to Tuolin Waterfall Scenic Area, and the appearance of the scenic spot is very distinctive: one side is a slope, one side is a cliff, from high to low, arranged in turn. Jianmen Pass Scenic Area is also an experience area for hiking through the canyon, and the route is Jianmen Pass - Xishui Beach - Lion Elephant Bay. There is a walking trail in the scenic area, which runs through five beaches and six pools, and the walking trail goes up against the current, twists and turns, and tourists can also enjoy performances such as holding water and walking a tightrope in the canyon at the splashing beach. Lion Elephant Bay is located at the confluence of Peach Blossom Creek and Juliu, and is named after the two major landscapes of Lion Rock and Elephant Trunk Peak. There is a 70-meter-long suspended bridge in Lion Elephant Bay, and at a height of 40 meters above the ground, you can take in the scenery of Lion Elephant Bay.
Laojiexi Scenic Area
The Laojiexi Scenic Area is located after the Jianmen Pass Scenic Area. The old Jiexi Scenic Area is the former site where the local villagers used to draw water to build the rice and grind the noodles, and now, it is famous for its landscape wonders and unique farming culture. The scenic spot is dominated by the rocks in the stream shaped like the bow of the boat, and the strange stones on both sides of the trail are numerous. The scenic area includes landscapes such as cross-stream Tingbu, bow stone, wedding song stage, etc., and the main tourist places are concentrated in Scarecrow Square and Halloween Amusement Palace. In the Scarecrow Square, visitors can see old production tools such as old water mills, old oil trucks, and old ash stoves, and can also experience oiling firsthand. The Halloween Amusement Palace is another place to visit in Lao Jiexi, also known as the "Ghost Town", which mainly displays the ghost culture in folklore, and should not be missed by tourists who like excitement.
White Horse Cliff Scenic Area
The White Horse Cliff Scenic Area is the last scenic spot in the tour sequence, and it is also one of the most popular scenic spots, with the reputation of "Chinese Canyon Bonsai". There is a horse head peak in the scenic area that is as strong as a giant horse, so it is named "White Horse Cliff". Relying on Shangping Creek, the White Horse Cliff opens up a trail along the stream, surrounded by mountains, and there are many dangerous peaks and steep walls along the way. Compared with other scenic spots, although there are not many entertainment projects in the White Horse Cliff Scenic Area, the emphasis is on the beautiful scenery. The scenic area includes nearly 20 landscapes such as goldfish welcome stone, fairy pond, Hengqin Bridge, God of Wealth Temple, Shuangkong Bridge, etc., and there are animals such as sika deer and yellow muntjac from time to time. To get to the White Horse Cliff Scenic Area, you need to climb the mountain, the mountain road is steep, and tourists can also choose to take the cable car.
Canyoning is a major feature of the Grand Canyon. Canyoning includes kayaking and yacht rafting, rafting in groups of 6 to 8 tourists, first riding a colorful raft, rushing down after crossing a long canal, and then changing to a motor yacht to quickly cross the water. During the rafting process, there are several rapids and rapids, which are extremely exciting.
