Hunan Provincial Forest Botanical Garden-Institutional Review

The Hunan Provincial Forest Botanical Garden was established in 1985 and is affiliated to the Hunan Provincial Forestry Department. The park covers an area of 140 hectares, and has been introduced, domesticated and ex-situ preserved more than 3,200 species of rare plants in 900 genera and 208 families, including dove tree, silver fir and yellow-bellied horned pheasant, and is one of the conservation bases for rare and endangered plants with the largest number of preservation in the central subtropics. With a forest coverage rate of more than 90% and many kinds of flowers, the botanical garden has always been a popular destination for Changsha citizens. The main attractions of the park include the cherry blossom garden, the national rhododendron garden, the magnolia garden, and the ornamental bamboo garden. When the flower season comes, there is always a steady stream of tourists.

Sakura Garden is the "elder" of the park, which was built in 1987. The cherry blossom exhibition in March and April is always the highlight of the park, and a large number of tourists come to visit and take pictures. The cherry blossom garden has nearly 70 varieties of Somei Yoshino cherry trees, red leaf cherry trees, weeping cherry trees, Yunnan cherry trees, and Miyi yellow cherry trees, with a scale of more than 3,000 trees. The reasonable allocation of early, middle and late flowering varieties makes the cherry blossom viewing period in the park extended to about 40 days to meet the viewing needs of more tourists. The 2,000 Somei Yoshino cherry trees in the cherry blossom garden were all donated by Shiga Prefecture in Japan in 1985, adding a lot of exotic flavor to the park. Even if you don't have the opportunity to enjoy cherry blossoms in Japan, visitors can experience the original beauty of Japanese cherry blossoms at the Hunan Provincial Forest Botanical Garden. The cherry blossom lake reflects the pure cherry blossom trees on the shore, and the breeze blows and the petals flutter in the petals. The only thing that tourists need to pay attention to is that the traffic in the park is large during holidays, and it is difficult to take pictures of exclusive beauty.

In April and May, after the end of the cherry blossom season, the park will usher in another major event, the azalea exhibition at the National Azalea Garden. Founded in 2008 and covering an area of 450 acres, the National Rhododendron Garden is a leading ex situ conservation and genetic breeding platform for Rhododendron rare plants in China. During the flowering season, rhododendrons bloom among the pine forests, swaying in the breeze, delicate or understated, just the right amount of dotting the green mountains of the botanical garden.

In addition to the ornamental projects, there are also entertainment areas such as Lemin Water Park, Lelin Amusement Park, and Barbecue Park in the park, which can meet the entertainment needs of visitors for a day in combination with the botanical garden.
