Zhouluo Grand Canyon is located in the source of the Laodao River, in the west of the Lianyun Mountains, about 70 kilometers away from the urban area of Changsha. With its beautiful natural scenery and fresh air, the Grand Canyon has always been an excellent weekend destination for surrounding residents. The scenic area has the largest natural waterfall community in central and southern China, as well as the largest wild osmanthus group in Asia, and its popularity has been increasing in recent years.
The main attractions of Zhouluo Grand Canyon are Lover's Lake, Panshi, Osmanthus Gorge, Mandarin Duck Waterfall, Moon Lake, Taiji Buddha Light Pond, Antenna Waterfall and so on. At the entrance of the attraction, there is a guide map of the canyon, so visitors can see where each attraction is located. The scenic tour route is generally in the shape of "8", which is not complicated, and tourists can also see other scenic spots on the return trip, which is very convenient. It should be noted that many scenic spots are named after ancient legends, including the name of the canyon "Zhouluo".
Lover's Lake
The name Lover's Lake comes from the legend of Chang'e. After she ran to the moon, the tears of her longing dripped down the earth to form this lake. The rock not far from Lover's Lake is matched with this legend, saying that Hou Yi misses Chang'e, often comes here to look at the bright moon from afar, and the ring in his hand is left to form a rock. However, visitors can see a man-made dam at the edge of the lake, and the current Lover's Lake is actually a semi-natural and semi-artificial lake formed by the impulsion of the stream. The rock is a prismatic rock about 10 meters high and 5 meters wide, and it should have little to do with the ring in terms of size. It stands in the middle of the stream, covered with moss, and carved with the word "rock". In terms of scale, neither the total length of about 300 meters, the width of 35 meters, and the deepest point of 26 meters are the Lover's Lake, nor the rock is impressive. But the beautiful legend clearly gives it no small charm. Many young couples are on the boat on the lake, leisurely beside the pavilions, the lake is sparkling, the bamboo forests on both sides are verdant, and the mountains and rivers have formed an excellent "matchmaker's words".
Osmanthus Gorge
Osmanthus Gorge is located on the slopes on both sides of the creek in the charming valley of Zhouluo, up to one kilometer, there are more than 1,000 wild osmanthus plants, three varieties of osmanthus, golden osmanthus and silver osmanthus, which is one of the largest wild osmanthus groups in Asia. In September and October every year, the osmanthus flowers in this place are in full bloom, the fragrance floats for several miles, it is gorgeous and extraordinary, and it is very beautiful in Chinese classics. Therefore, many lovers of national style wearing ancient costumes often come to take artistic photos. Flowers and beauties make for a wonderful landscape painting that is very pleasing to the eye.
Mandarin Duck Falls
The scenic area has the largest natural waterfall community in central and southern China, and the largest waterfall is the Mandarin Duck Waterfall with a height of about 50 meters and a width of 2~6 meters. At the very top of the waterfall, two trickles of water meet and pour down, like a double dragon coiling out of the abyss, tumbling out of snow-white waves, among which there are jade and silver water droplets. The bottom of the deep pool was once a zigzag, receiving the majestic current. There are stairs that go up vertically and horizontally next to the waterfall, which is a good photo spot.
Tai Chi Buddha Light Pond
Taiji Buddha Light Pond is located in the depths of the scenic spot, surrounded by mountain walls, layers of mountains and mountains, the flowing water in it is murmuring, and the pond is clear like a mirror. The pond water and stones form a Tai Chi shape, which is quite interesting.
