Yanjiyou, formerly known as Today's Reading, was born in the golden age of brick-and-mortar bookstores, and opened its first small store in Chengdu in 2006, with the main business of renting books, selling magazines and popular reading materials. In the following years, Today's Reading has opened more than 30 chain stores, and will take steps to Chongqing, Kunming and other places. After ten years of painstaking operation, on the basis of reading 100,000 members today, Yanji came into being. Since its birth, the brand has been able to buck the trend with its ultra-high membership base and unique business model, which has been able to buck the trend of physical bookstore closures.

The words come from the split of the word "set", just as this space that calls itself a bookstore is actually composed of a variety of business formats. In addition to being able to read and buy books, the bookstore also provides a variety of spaces such as a coffee bar, a cultural and creative sales area, a children's play area, and a cultural salon activity area. This brand is also subdivided into several sub-brands, which are different in terms of function and audience, namely Yanjiyou Today Reading, Yanjiyou Yanbao Paradise, Yanjiyou See, Yanjiyou Yanshe.

Although the scale of Yanjiyou Chongqing store is not large, covering an area of about 700 square meters, there is a big gap between it and the top three bookstores on the list, but the store pays special attention to the selection of books. The store displays about 25,000 books of all kinds, including more than 13,000 domestic and foreign literary books, including many original books from Hong Kong, Taiwan, Britain and the United States, and minor language countries, the most famous of which are "Harry Potter" and "Forrest Gump". In addition, there are more than 3,000 art and creative books and more than 600 children's growth books, as well as books on social science, aesthetics, design and other categories.

Despite its small scale, Yan Ji did not take the design of the bookstore lightly. The store in Times Square has a huge entrance and is brightly lit. The bookshelves and bookshelves are all made of wood, and the green potted plants decorated in the corners make this store feel comfortable and natural for readers. The reading atmosphere in the store is acceptable, not noisy at all, but there are no seats available except for the coffee area, and readers can only sit on the floor if they want to rub a book here.
