Located on the 2nd floor of Taikoo Li East, Shang Lian is a Thai restaurant brand of LIAN Dinning. Lotus Group is a catering company from Hong Kong, with a business scope in Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Shanghai, Chengdu and other first- and second-tier cities. Chengdu is the third city of Shanglian brand after Guangzhou and Shenzhen, and in 2017, Shanglian won the title of "Thai Selected Restaurant" certified by the Thai Department of Commerce in the Thailand Top Brand Exhibition held by the Consulate General of Thailand in Chengdu.
Shang Lian Thai Cuisine has been well received by diners since its opening in Chengdu, and the quality of some dishes is comparable to that of Siamese Thai. Shang Lian's salad ranges from the traditional green papaya salad to the group's Executive Chef Mr. Supap's own grilled chicken salad with yuzu. The yuzu salad is made with shredded vegetables and Thai pomelo, also topped with lemon, chili and fish sauce, and topped with chunks of crispy roast chicken.
Compared with Siam, Shang Lian's Tom Yum soup does not add much coconut milk, so the texture is not as mellow as the former, but because there is no sweet flavor of coconut milk, the sour and spicy taste of the whole soup is more prominent, and the taste is relatively pure. The fragrant mango black and white glutinous rice is a widely acclaimed dessert in Shanglian across the country, the refreshing Thai small mango is paired with smooth glutinous rice, and then poured from the head with coconut milk, and you can smell the slightest milky fragrance from the moment it is served.
Located on the second floor of Taikoo Li, Shanglian has large floor-to-ceiling windows that allow for bright light. The dining area is a wooden dining table with dark purple sofa chairs, which is simple and modern and elegant, but the table size for two is too small and the dishes are crowded. The restaurant service staff is well-trained, and the operation standards of leading, ordering, and serving are standardized, and the response speed will be reduced to a certain extent during peak periods.
