Compared with other scenic spots in Zhongshan, Toutuoling is relatively much niche. The former site of the Purple Mountain Observatory, located in the middle of the mountainside of Toutuoling, was built in 1934 and was the only observatory in China before the liberation, and has now become a historical exhibition hall of astronomy in China. The Observatory retains the architectural style of the past, and there is a meteorite exhibition hall in the museum, which introduces the classification and characteristics of each meteorite, and also displays many ancient astronomical instruments and modern measuring equipment. In the summit park of Toutuoling, you can also see a small half of Nanjing City.

Visitors who want to see the scenery from afar need to pay attention to the weather changes, if it is not for the clear sky, even if you reach the top of the mountain, it is difficult to get a clear view, and the top of the mountain is mostly surrounded by mountain fog.
