The package ticket of Zhongshan Scenic Area includes the attraction of Linggu Temple, but many tourists basically give up the visit to Linggu Temple because it is far away from the main scenic spots. Compared with the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum and the Ming Tomb, there are many fewer tourists in the Linggu Temple Scenic Area, which includes the Linggu Temple, the Linggu Tower, the National Revolutionary Army Memorial Cemetery and other places to visit.
Linggu Temple was built in the Southern Dynasties period, after several rise and fall of the scale has long been less than the past, today's attractions have a sense of mixing and matching of different eras. The oldest building in the scenic area is only the beamless hall of the Ming Dynasty, because there are no wooden beams in the hall, and bricks are used, so it gets its name. In 1931, this place was converted into a memorial hall for the National Revolutionary Army Memorial Cemetery, and the atmosphere is solemn. Now there is also a place to set up a wax museum of celebrities of the Xinhai Revolution, which is somewhat incompatible with the solemn and simple scene.
Later, the Linggu Temple was rebuilt in the Qing Dynasty, and the Linggu Pagoda was built by the Republic of China. Linggu Temple is more remote and smaller than the ancient Jiming Temple, with Daxiong Treasure Hall, Guanyin Treasure Pavilion, Tibetan Scripture Building, Maitreya Palace, Ancestral Hall and other buildings, and enshrines Xuanzang's parietal bone relics, but only large-scale exhibitions are available for tourists to watch. Although there is such a gimmick, it is still difficult for ordinary tourists to touch deeply, if it is a quiet place to wander, it is a good choice, you can choose to taste a vegetarian meal in the temple at noon, or taste the Linggu somen outside the temple gate.
Here you can also choose to climb the eight-sided and nine-story Linggu Tower, and climb high and look far away. The Linggu Tower is made of reinforced concrete and Suzhou Jinshan granite, although it is only a building in the Republic of China, but the shape is also very classical. After entering the tower, there is only a spiral staircase, which can be used for one person to stand on one side. The top of the tower can overlook the entire Linggu scenic area, and the scenery is infinite. However, the stairs are steep, so visitors with fear of heights should be cautious when going up the tower, and they will need to walk back the way they came when they get down.
In recent years, it is not these old buildings that have made Linggu Temple famous, but the firefly road in summer. The sight of fireflies on a summer evening is beautiful, but the moment it is known, it is doomed to be overcrowded and lose its original sight. If you visit Linggu Temple in summer, don't catch fireflies that are already sensitive and easily disappear.
