Tianping Mountain-Institutional Reviews

Tianping Mountain is 201 meters above sea level, located on the eastern shore of Taihu Lake, and is the burial place of the ancestors of Fan Zhongyan, a famous minister of the Northern Song Dynasty. Tianping Mountain is known as "the first mountain in Wuzhong" and "Jiangnan Shengjing". Together with Xiangshan Mountain in Beijing, Qixia Mountain in Nanjing, and Yuelu Mountain in Changsha, it is one of the four major maple viewing destinations in China.

The maple tree species of Tianping Mountain is a sweetgum tree, with a thick and straight trunk and triangular leaves. The sweetgum trees on Tianping Mountain were originally planted by Fan Zhongyan's descendants, and there are hundreds of them. In recent years, in order to develop tourism, more than 2,000 new sweetgum trees have been planted on Tianping Mountain, making Tianping Mountain an out-and-out place for enjoying maple trees. Due to the difference in topography, tree age, illumination, climate and other aspects, the color of the maple leaves of the maple tree on Tianping Mountain shows a graded change, from cyan to yellow, orange, red, and crimson, even if there are different colors of maple leaves on a maple tree, so the maple leaves of Tianping Mountain are called "colorful maple".

The Baiyun Wangfeng Terrace on the halfway of Tianping Mountain is an excellent place to enjoy the maple leaves, and tourists can look at the Wangfeng Terrace. Different from the red and bright maple leaves of Xiangshan, the "colorful" maple leaves of Taiping Mountain are intertwined, and the scenery is spectacular. In late autumn and early winter in November every year, it is the best time to enjoy the maple in Tianping Mountain, and at that time, the red maple festival will be held in Tianping Mountain Scenic Area, attracting countless tourists. The foliage is greatly affected by the weather, and if it is foggy or rainy, it will affect the tour experience. If the itinerary allows, it is recommended that tourists choose to go up the mountain on a sunny day to enjoy the foliage.

"Tianping Mountain is known for its 'red maple, strange stones, clear springs' three uniques" tourism promotion is slightly exaggerated, the red maple of Tianping Mountain does have its special features, but the strange stones, clear springs are relatively ordinary. At the same time, the so-called "scenic spots" such as "Wan Wat Chaotian", "Gaoyi Stacked Cui" and "Yuquan Light Yin" in the scenic area are also difficult to have. For example, the landscape of "Wan Wat Chaotian", which was formed in the fault tilt during the period of crustal movement, has many mountain peaks with similar geographical characteristics in the country, and the degree of danger is even worse, compared with the "Wan Wat Chaotian" of Tianping Mountain, the performance is mediocre. Therefore, tourists are advised not to have high expectations when visiting.
