Dulwich College Shanghai Pudong - Institutional Reviews

Dulwich College is a leading private boys' school in the UK, founded in London in 1619. Dulwich College International is an extension of Dulwich College overseas, with the first Dulwich College International in Pudong, Shanghai in 2003, and now Dulwich College International has 10 schools in 4 countries across Asia. In 2016, the second Dulwich College International (Puxi) in Shanghai opened in Minhang District.

The Pudong campus offers a full period of study from Nursery to High School, while the Puxi Campus is only open to students aged 2-13 years old, from Kindergarten to Pre-Middle School. Both campuses are equipped with a wide range of cultural and sports facilities, such as laps-free swimming pools, gymnasiums, tennis courts, and large enough stadiums to accommodate students for professional football and rugby training. Dulwich Puxi shares a campus with Dehong School, and the Pudong campus is a comprehensive art space that includes a theatre, as well as two black box theatres, music classrooms, a recording studio and five separate music practice rooms.

At Dulwich, students follow a well-established British curriculum, starting with the English and Wales National Curriculum in Year 1, the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) in Years 10-11 and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP) in Years 12-13. Chinese has always been an integral part of the Dulwich College China curriculum, and the graded Chinese curriculum is suitable for students of all levels, with more than 90% of students achieving high scores in the IBDP Chinese exams.

With a strong network of backgrounds, Dulwich College has established partnerships with many of the world's leading universities and art academies, and students have the opportunity to attend master classes at Berklee College of Music, Northwestern University and the Royal Conservatory of Music in Ireland. At Dulwich, students take two music lessons a week, learning musical instruments in addition to music theory, and it can be said that every Dulwich student has mastered more than 2 instruments. There are a wide range of arts activities within the Dulwich Group that Dulwich students from all over Asia can participate in, such as the MARD Festival, the Dulwich Festival, and the Diversity Series.

Nearly half of Dulwich students go on to study in the UK after graduation, and the University of Cambridge, the University of Oxford and other British universities are among the top universities in 2014-2017. Dulwich's achievements in the United States are not as good as those in the United Kingdom, and there is no blessing from the Ivy League schools, but it can be regarded as a fruitful success, and has received olive branches from Carnegie Mellon University, Duke University, University of Chicago, Northwestern University and other prestigious American universities.
