Ming Tombs - Institutional Reviews

Located in Changling Town, Changping District, Beijing, with a total area of 120 square kilometers, the Ming Tombs is a national 5A-level scenic spot, a world cultural heritage and a national key cultural relics protection unit. The Ming Tombs are the royal tombs of the 13 emperors after the Ming Dynasty moved the capital to Beijing, so it is generally called the Ming Ming Tombs. In addition, seven concubine tombs and one eunuch tomb were built here. In addition to the 13 emperors, 23 empresses are buried here. 2 princes, more than 30 concubines and 2 eunuchs.

At present, the Ming Ming Tombs are open to the outside world only four scenic spots: Shinto, Changling, Zhaoling and Dingling. The first attraction of the scenic area is the Shinto, also known as the total Shinto. The main buildings of Shenlu have stone memorial arch, big red gate, stele tower, etc., among which the stone memorial arch is the largest existing stone memorial arch in China, there is a dismounted stele on both sides of the big red gate, there is a stone stele in the stele pavilion of Shengde, the inscription of several emperors of the Ming and Qing dynasties on it. In addition, there are more than a dozen pairs of various statues arranged on the back of the stele pavilion in turn, and its carving is superb, which is very attractive. Changling is the joint burial mausoleum of Ming Chengzu Zhu Di and Empress Xu, with an area of about 120,000 square meters, ranking first among the 13 mausoleums, and it is also the best preserved and most touristy attraction in the scenic spot. After passing through the front hall, the Qi'en Hall and the Ming Tower, you came to the mausoleum where the Ming Chengzu was buried. In addition, there are various cultural relics unearthed here in the Changling Museum.

Zhaoling is the only tomb that has been excavated in the Ming Tombs, so you can go down to the underground palace to visit. Dingling is the tomb of Zhu Yijun, the emperor of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty, and his two queens, and more than 3,000 pieces of cultural relics including the golden crown, the phoenix crown, the night pearl and the name Sancai were unearthed during the excavation. The main material of the Zhaoling underground palace is bluestone, and the stone arch coupon is the main support of the underground palace. There are 7 white marble doors in the underground palace, the underground palace and the palace on the ground are similar in pattern, there are also the front hall, the main hall and the side hall, the utensils are placed according to the original state, there are three white marble seats inside, and the yellow glazed five offerings and blue and white porcelain jars are placed in front of the seat. The coffins of the Wanli Emperor and the two empresses are placed in the apse, next to which are 26 red lacquered wooden boxes containing funerary goods. Ming Zhaoling is the joint burial mausoleum of Ming Muzong Zhu Zaiyuan and his three queens,

The Ming Zhao Mausoleum has been repeatedly damaged in history, but the scale and scenery are not as good as the Changling Tomb and the Dingling Tomb, and the flow of people is also small, and now it is in a state of long-term maintenance, so it is temporarily impossible to enter the visit for nearly a year.

Because the Ming Tombs are far away from the city, in addition to self-driving, many tourists will choose to participate in a day trip and other tour groups, and be taken to the shopping area by the tour guide. In fact, in 2015, the National Tourism Administration publicly notified that there were serious stealing behaviors in the periphery of the Ming Ming Tombs Scenic Area, and the health in the scenic area was relatively general, and the service facilities were not complete.
